Snowy Ride
« on: October 07, 2011, 08:29:06 PM »
Just wondering if anyone is heading to the mountains for the snowy ride over the weekend of November 5th? For those who are not familiar with this ride it is a fundraiser for a foundation started by a young rider who passed away from Cancer. Involves riding to checkpoints around the NSW snowy mountains.

I went on my first Snowy Ride about 3 years ago with the local Ulysses branch, so it's about time I put my hand up again.  There's a few from work going too, so in all likelihood I'll be going down with them. I think they plan to leave Sydney sometime Friday.

I have been over the last few years. A really good time.  This year I was going to give it a rest, but I may at least do the Saturday as a day ride (did I mention I can do the snowy loop as a day ride!) but have the option of doing Friday and Saturday nights.  Last year I did a coast ride down to the snowies, watching whales of the deck of the pub in Tathra for lunch, then off into the mountains to play in the snow.  You can get quite a variety of weather so be prepared!

Have taken a look at the coastal route. Think I am going to ride down that way this year... Looks a little nicer than via the capital...
