I got my cam covers powder coated, $50 for the pair and can't tell the difference from original

So at what age does this "old enough to know better" kick in?

That's a nice shade of blue.

Can I ask where's the rear part of the front mudguard? You didn't leave it at the shop did you...lol

Arvo All...

Ever wonder just how those cruddy and faded painted bits (be they steel or ABS plastic), get to look that good after refinishing ::)...the following illustrate the many hours fellow Ozstoc Member, Laurie put into refinishing some Triumph components for me.

Some of you may have seen Laurie’s own recently refinished ST1100 at Blackheath...I digress, let the Craftsman speak for himself...

...In the mean looking forward to seeing the finish product :thumb

Ciao, the can :)

PS, and if anyone is wondering "how's the tank look?"...it's back with Laurie...on account the idiot penning this diatribe did......(to be cont.)

Hmm.  Did you realise it's a similar colour to your car?   :)
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Now if I just get some superglue, a bit of Bog, a plastic welder and maybe 9 new plastic bits me thinks I could probably repaint my bike 2 and have it looking reasonable.

Biggles, gee no, i didn't notice  :rofl
the Ford is a dark purpulish blue and the bike is GM Voodoo blue, when the bike finally gets outside the shed, it will look much lighter..
hmmm, maybe i like blue...

Done!  :thumbs
Finally finished and very happy. Took it for a 1.5 hour ride today, 100k city and country just because i could!

Tall screen: Screens for bikes 550mm with wings, slots and light tint, $215 landed
Modified seat: Willshire Trimmers, Richmond, $250
Lambswool Cover: Airfleece, Holden Hill $200 inc backrest cover
Handlebar risers 30mm: ebay $30
Grips and LED's: ebay, $not much!
Chome bar weights: local chrome plater, $40
Delkevic Mufflers: Delkevic USA, $375 landed
Paintwork: Tony at Smithfield Crash, $1000 inc prep work
Cleaning, preperation, spray filler and rubbing down for the vinyl finish panels that were painted, free
Detailing of vinyl bits, wheels, brakes etc, free

Thanks to the previous owner at Wallaroo who looked after this bike pretty damn good as the second owner. Not much work to bring it back to shiny bits.

Ok, it's not a new bike, but i reckon it's pretty damn good for 14 years old!
Needs a tune up now though as i have made some cold air holes in the filter cover and changed the mufflers... good under 4000 rpm but gets a bit fluffy after that... exhaust sounds awesome!

I'll take a couple more pics when the sun is out to show how the colour lights up
Looking forward to doing some rides, preferably with the SA OZSTOC members  :)

Next project: Trailer, stay tuned...

Looking SWEET! But tell me why you tinted/painted the blinkers black. I like mine as bright as possible so the 'Neddies' in cars can see me.

I certainly get where you are coming from. but i don't like the bright orange look... they still show quite bright when blinking, it is only 2 coats of the tint stuff. I reckon it's my job to miss the 'neddies', not their job to miss me  :)

Fair enough. I have always considered myself invisable on a bike and like to keep plenty of room to move around other vehicles.

That's a nice job all right, good colour for the 1100 too really suits it (Gold would have been better though  :wink1).
Have fun with it mate.
