Final Bug Catcher
« on: December 16, 2012, 04:07:11 AM »
Here's a photo of the final version of my screen cutout Bug Catcher.

This one can be moved between and will fit every screen made for the ST1300 and uses exactly the same bits for all. It is rigid enough so that even at speed the mesh doesn't flex enough to foul the top edge of the nose cowl HONDA badge when the screen is retracted from being raised and when the screen is fully raised the bottom edge of the catcher sits down on the screen inner cowl 1.5cm higher than the lowest spot on the pointy black bit (behind the V-Stream emblem on the screen).

It still allows air though the mesh so that you don't get pushed down onto the tank by back pressure. It can be removed and replaced easily for cleaning.

The bolts and nuts are transparent tough plastic so in life are fairly unobtrusive and best of all it lets me ride with the visor up without bug splatter in the beard!!!
