For those not going to Middleton - Fancy a ride out?
« on: March 08, 2013, 03:15:33 PM »
Guys, Anyone fancy a rode out on Saturday 16th in the morning (or afternoon...or even both?) I was thinking of going down to Boonah to the Dugandan Hotel for Lunch..a short, painless ride so if anyone is up for it let me know and we'll organize it.
Cheers,
Paul

Sorry can't make it as I start work at 3PM on the 16th so wouldn't have time to get back to Toowoomba from Dugandan Hotel
Have fun as it is a great destination.

I fancy that!

What time are we aiming for? I can be flexible on either Sat or Sun, so I can fit in with others.

G'day Whizz,

Where we up to with a ride Sat - or Sun?

I'm off to Mackay 1st up Mon, to have my head filled with stuff, so Sat is better for me.

OK, on Saturday I am going for an early(ish) lunch to the Dugandan Hotel and if you would like to join me then I would be only too pleased to meet up with you.  :eat :beer :popcorn

The Dugandan Hotel which is about 1 km south of Boonah on the Rathdowney Road...and it is REALLY easy to find.

Link to the pub is here;

http://publocation.com.au/pubs/qld/dugandan/dugandan-hotel

Look up "Dugandan hotel, Boonah, Queensland" in Google Maps for how to get there.

I will be departing from the Yamanto Shopping Centre car park just off the Cunningham Highway at Yamanto not earlier than 10:30, if anyone would like to join me for the run down the road. From there it is only about a 45 minute ride, so it's a real easy one. Or you can make your own way there by whatever route you like with the intention of meeting up about 11:30 ish.

As you might be aware the idea is not necessarily to have to ride together, but more to meet up (either before we get there, or after we get there) and chat/eat/drink (beer or coffee), then depart whenever you wish, in whatever direction you wish, in whatever groups you wish. Hence the name RTE (Ride To Eat). A very relaxed, very informal way to have a stooge through the countryside.

If anyone has CB on their ST's I'll be on Channel 13 (callsign "Whizz") during the pre-ride park-up and during the ride.

Please give me an idea if you're up for the ride just so that we don't leave anyone behind. Sorry for the late notice but I had some other things that had to be sorted before I could be definite about this ride.

Looking forward to a relaxed, laid-back morning/lunchtime get-together.
Cheers,
Paul

Hi Whizz. I'd like to meet up at Yamanto and travel down with you, if that's OK? The shopping centre is on Ripley rd, or Warick Rd, opposite Ipswich - Boonah Rd?

I'll see y'all at the pub at around 11.30ish. My route will take through Kyogle and then up the Mt Lindsay Hwy and across from Rathdowney, so I won't be meeting at Yamanto. I'm looking forward to it.

Looks like 3 or 4 of us?

Does the pub serve lunches from 11.30? (I rarely go into pubs, so I wouldn't be sure)

Too true Bluey,

Great ride - good dialogue between the 5 of us - fun - laughter - debate - agreement - some of the time.

Glad you got home safely.

Lets do it again soon

What a great day. Good weather, great ride, pleasant company, laid back conversation. Great food and everything around the venue was pleasing to one's eye - the scenery, I mean, of course.  :beer   :eat
Decided it was too good a day to come home to an uncut lawn, so I took a detour home via Canungra Village, :dred11 ( road thru Tambourine closed due to a landslip) then to the Coast - Southport for a quick coffee & home via the m2, Logan Mwy, Beaudesert Rd.
(288km. 15.64ltrs = 18.41 Km per Ltr.)
Great day thank you gentlemen. Look forward to doing again real soon. :thumbs  :clap:rockon
