Awesome Day! 22 ST's plus 5 or 6  ring in's, heaps of riders and pillions!

Had a great roll up leaving toowoomba, Aldo, Tridolite, Redline, Kippers and Myself

Getting to Esk:

Everyone having lunch and listening to diesel and i yabber away about the club

Was simply amazing watching everyone milling around the bikes after lunch people talking through watch each other is thinking of doing, and just the conversations were brilliant! looking forward to the next one already!

Well, it sounds like you QLD-ers always have a great day trip to the ESK Bakery... you almost topped the numbers for the Middleton Rally! Google says it's only 4327km from Perth  :think1

Well it certainly was a good day and I know because everyone had smiles on their faces from ear to ear.
Even the new faces were glad to be there and it sure was good to see them turn up and enjoying themselves, It really is the old story "a stranger is only a friend you haven't yet met".
All the chatting about their bikes and the different things that has happened to them in some way or other certainly shows the enthusiasm every one has for what we all love so much.
Even the pillions and Ladies were joining in, maybe the extra spot for them on the web site was cause for their extra enjoyment,
I know it will for us mere males to finally understand some of their thoughts on what they really like about us and our love for our machines, (well Maybe)
I reckon that everyone still had those mile wide grins on their face when they arrived home,
As for the Esk Bakery well what can I say except that they were fantastic as usual with damn good coffee and pies etc.
Here's to the next ride and the meeting of old and new faces that I will be able to greet.

As customary the Esk RTE was the place to be with most of QLD attending (well some of QLD anyway :wink1)
I rode in with my wife (Carrol) and were joined by Gaz in Caboolture. Then ran into Ian B and his entourage, honked hello and joined them for a time on the ride to Esk :runyay. It was a great little ride past the lake to the bakery and when we arrived we found the carpark was full of ST’s :eek, what a great sight :thumbs.

So we walked over to the bakery and had a great time catching up with old friends and chatting to all the new guys (what a great bunch of blokes :thumb) and as always a great feed was had by all :eat

After that it was time for the photo and then we all got to watch Diesel go for a ride on Gaz’s massive 1900cc cruiser, it’s a Star Roadliner with loud aftermarket pipes :rockon. The exhaust could be heard ½ a kilometre away :eek :eek and when he got back the grin could be seen peeking out from under his helmet :clap, but don’t worry Diesel isn’t giving the ST :grin

But as always when everyone is enjoying themselves, time flew by way too fast and everyone had to start heading home :'(. We said goodbye to half of the group as they left and then it was time for us to head off ourselves. We then said bye to the guys remaining and took off.

Once again it was back to Caboolture where we parted ways with Gaz :hatwave and then down the slab back to Strathpine.

Thankyou everyone who was able to come :-++ it was an Awesome day, we had a great time. I’ll upload some video of the day later :grin

Cheers

Thanks to all for another great RTE at Esk.  Nice to meet some new faces and of course catch up with the old faces. (And boy are there ever some old faces in this mob LOL).

Thanks to Youngone and the other Brissy boys and girls who kindly waited at Beaudesert for me to arrive later than I had advised them.

What a great ride from Beaudesert to Esk via places I had not ridden before ie Mt Walker, Glamorgan Vale and Lowood and the roads were surprisingly very good.

Bruce and I got home very weary about 5:00 PM after clocking up 470Kms.  Just what my ST1300 needs with 136,000 on the clock haha.

Cheers and see you all at the next one.

Thanks to everyone that joined the ride from Loganholme Caltex, an enjoyable day was had by all, I hope.

yje only glitch was that my TomTom got lost and did not know that Esk was after Lowood.

Diana my pillion enjoyed the run even though she has some neck pain this morning. She said that this has been the longest ride
she had been on since she was in her twenties. :runyay :runyay :blk11

I had a great day. My sincere thanks to those whose efforts made it possible. I discovered some new (to me) roads on the way there, and by choice, had a not particularly healthy lunch (SWMBO has had words with me about that) and then zoomed down the highway home. Back in time for tea.

It was good to put some faces to names again and to meet some of the new people (well, I'm sort of new myself, but the newer ones, that's who I mean). If I try to talk "bike" at home, I just get blank looks, so spending a couple of hours with people who also want to talk "bike" is a bit of a sanity saver.

Biloela is going into my diary, I think. I must seek a leave pass!

The bike purred and all that matters is good. Ommmmmm!

I'm the one with 'Old Fart' written on my t-shirt!  :crazy
My wife Lisa is sitting to my right (pink top).

We traveled from Maryborough and spent the Friday night at the Kenilworth Hotel.
The next morning we rode from Kenilworth to Esk, and after the RTE we rode to Ormeau near the Gold Coast!
We left Ormeau this morning, rode back to Esk, Maleny, Mapleton, Kenilworth, Gympie and then home!

Road down from Toowoomba with Diesel and a few others (sorry I need to work on names) down through hampton - love this road.
It's supprising how rusty you can get after 5 months off the bike - change of lifestyle and I'm back on and I realy enjoyed the day.  :runyay

Looking for the next one!!!

What a day! :clap great ride up. First serious outing on the machine so I learnt a bit about it's characteristics. ( itty bit of surprise in that too )

The time at Esk was great.

Meeting new people can sometimes challenging, but Saturday was one of those events where everyone was just so at ease and friendly. Awesome day folks. :thumbsup

And the info sharing about the bike was something else. So many mods - so many gadgets - & so much online info!
I'm going to have fun for a year! :runyay

Many thanks Streak & Co for organising a great day. So looking forward to the next. :clap :bl11 :thumbs

Great to see new faces on their mighty (13) STeads  :thumbsup and mini (11) STeads  :thumbs oh and the micro STeads (CB) :clap.

Hope you enjoyed the great food at ESK bakery but most of all the ride and company of fellow OZSToc members. It was a warm Autumn day (can't wait for winter days), and perfect weather to be back on the bike after been super busy moving into and fixing Kyms & my new place.

Looking forward to many more rides with you guys and if anyone wants a ride companion please give us a tingle whether it's to the corner store or from east to west coasts.

Rob.
