I believe that 22 and 23 are used in agriculture and such for data controlling devices, such as pumps, irrigation etc

  Spot on saaz.  Used to control Pumps, gates, etc.  Initially through FSK, but I believe more modern modulation techniques are used these days.

Just reprogrammed mine to include channels 18 and 50 in the OzSTOC group.

On a recent night ride south of Parkes in western NSW we were just monitoring the "Truckies" channel 40 and as you know can get the most discriptive dialect of the road ahead......

Anyway, we like poking along at just our 100kph at night even on the 110Kph roads keeping an eye out for those big flighty grass hoppers.....when a couple of Semi's sneak in behind us......the second truck was heard say to the first on the UHF, "those  lights of yours are  brilliant, bet we dont go hittin none of them  roo's tonight the  barstewards"......to which the first truck replied....."There some silly  up here on his  bike with his  missus on the back,  that, but by the holly  he got better  lights than these  trucks put to  gether.......will just follow these mad  on their  bike "

In the West, we have picked ch50 as the group channel, as its away from the normal chatter

That rules me out then.
