Here's a new item to add to your trailer:



It produces electricity as soon as you apply heat to the base. Can use on the burner and also an open fire as long as the cord is protected.

I gather it produces the 5 VDC that all USB connectable devices crave.

I'd been thinking along the lines of what power I'd need bike camping, and my wife picked up a bit of kit from Aldi a while ago that seems to tick the boxes for me, although the 7.5w solar panel is a bit bulky. It's a Nature Power Solar Power with Lights pack, and it has a 7.5W solar panel, a 2.6aH 12 battery pack, 2 x 6 led camping lights, and a USB connection for charging USB devices. Seems simple enough to use, the lights throw out a decent light, and the USB port will be great for keeping all sorts of stuff charged. I'm looking at securely mounting the panel in some aluminium channel on the trailer top, so that at least it can be secured, but it seems a simple enough setup that should just work. I'm sure anyone could knock something similar up themselves, but this will most likely pop up at Aldi sometime in the future for $100

Can't seem to find anywhere in Oz that sell them, other than the ALDI rotating specials, but they're about $US100.
