Three quarter racing spork and steak knife
« on: February 01, 2014, 06:14:00 AM »
I wanted a spoon to personalize and carry on the bike , something  that wouldn't be reclaimed and end up back in kitchen draw if you know what I mean .

These were quite easy for me to drill out after I drew the proposed holes on the spoon with a thin black texta .

Center punch and drill using a high speed and sharp drill bits .

I was so impressed with the way the spork turned out , with filed knife edge  on one side , I found a suitable knife and gave it the treatment also.
I've tested them out on egg and bacon on toast and they work great .

They feel light to handle and I weighed the knife before I stared ... It weighed 64 grams and it was 19 grams lighter ... nearly a third reduction .

Silky, you're and ideas man.  :thumb
When packing for compact camping, it's important keep in mind that by taking stuff that has a multiple uses, can save you space and weight.   "If you look after the ounces, the pounds will look after themselves" as a backpacking mate would say.

If they were to be engraved (OzSTOC, or name), they would be worth more. Good as a gift to an enthusiast, and as a customized set, they would be worth more than just a ForkinSpoon.

In the early 70's we drilled holes in everything we could to go faster...so Silky, do these 'lightening' holes enable U to masticate faster???

My Dad told me as a small boy I needed to masticate for longer...I was 55 before I realised that I mis-heard him Wot thuh

Cheers the can:-)
