   Fabric for manufacture:   Textile.

   Length of jacket:   Touring Style.

   Is ventilation required, placement of ventilation?      Yes. Front, back & Arms.

   Does the jacket need to be waterproof?   No.

   Does it need to provide protection from the elements when the temperature drops to 5 degrees?   Yes.

   Does the jacket need a thermal lining?   Yes.

   Should the thermal lining be removable?     Yes.

   Does it need to be suitable when the temperature is over 30 degrees?   Yes.

And the design of the jacket here looks great.

Definately velcro for the neck.
My job is so secret, even I don't know what it is

Hi Guys,

Here is my 2 cents worth, hang on............. better make it 5 cents as the 'ol 2 cents aint round no more.  :rofl

   Fabric for manufacture - cotton, leather,  textile, or hybrid? cordura or mixture with ventilated mesh.

   Length of jacket short or touring style? Touring length

   Consider the wearer of the jacket is riding a well faired bike that needs more ventilation. well ventilated so air flows on upper arms and from chest to back

   Any other specific design features? E.g.  Additional mesh panels for ventilation. yes as per above, also a clear pocket on the forearm or chest for a toll tag and waterproof pockets for phone and ipod. Also must have an elasticized waist and supported by Velcro waist adjustments

   Is ventilation required, placement of ventilation? mesh or zip on the back for airflow exit

   Does the jacket need to be waterproof? Removable or permanent waterproof lining. no as i prefer to use a separate raincoat and pants

   Does it need to provide protection from the elements when the temperature drops to 5 degrees? a removable liner would be nice but not essential as layering is important also. A velcro tab on wrists to adjust sleeve under the gloves

   Does the jacket need a thermal lining? as above

   Should the thermal lining be removable? yes

   Does it need to be suitable when the temperature is over 30 degrees? absolutely

Can I just say that you guys are just awesome and this is a brilliant idea

OK Velcro at the neck it is.
I also forgot to mention that at the wrist area there will be a vent of approximately 250 mm. Like all vent in the jacket all linings need to be removed for the venting to be effective .

I do accept that if you are designing a jacket that will suit such a large range of climactic conditions the jacket will have features that will not  be used by some. eg Queenslanders wanting ventilation will remove both linings - to be used only occasionally whilst traveling south, traveling at night or wanting extra waterproofing from the liner. eg those that do Long Distance riding. Whereas in Victoria most will leave lining in. Only be removed rarely.

Has consensus been reached is it time to arrange for a sample to be made up?
The image below is the jacket design that the OzSTOC jacket will be based on.
Obviously in your color scheme without the neck gator.
You will note additional venting you will notice the vent at the wrist area.
The OzSTOC jacket will have the additional venting at the lower chest and at the bicep region.
The jacket will have the additional venting at the rear.
Here you go.

I hope you like the design. This is an excellent quality jacket From a very good manufacturer.

Can you explain what vents this jacket has and how much air flow will there be through the jacket? Living in the tropics I'd want lots of vents and good airflow.

Concerning airflow. As you would appreciate you are owners of a motorcycle that is well designed to deflect air flow.
Streak sent this to me with ideal venting 2 pairs at the chest a pair at the biceps which I would expect grab most of the air flow plus the venting at the wrist. The jacket will have 3 vents at the back for the exit of air. You would remove the thermal and waterproof lining. There fore the jacket would be a shell with a mesh lining.

Marcus and I are just doing a redraw now, and will post where the vents are, but as Marx says, we are working on basically a vented shell and adding the liners for the rest

Right here you a more accurate version of what the jacket will look like, there is also zips in the wrists as well, there should be heaps of air flow! The lines are rough, but it will give you the idea :thumb

The exact tone of the colours and stuff we are still working on :)

Once we have a physical sample we will really be able to have a really close look at this stuff

Nicky and I both love the styling, yes it's hard to meet everyone's needs and whant's but this has to be damn close to everyone's wish list.

I for one love the Neck Gator ..... Bit then I read "not including neck Gator".

I'm interested as well. Tell me, is it the white bits that are reflective bcoz  I could add more of this to the design that would reflect our club's unique status of Ozzie appreciation of a great bike. So, if the reflective is the white bits I'd like to submit my ideas for more reflective.

I'm not in the market for a new jacket yet and my current one is a textile touring one which does the job ok.

Though I am curious as to why a pocket in the back as there's nothing I can think of to put there. But then the only item I carry while riding is my phone in an internal waterproof pocket.

An issue I found with my jacket is the Velcro. The front is zipped with a Velcro held flap over that. With a strong gusty side wind from the right the flap opens so I've added studs to keep it closed.

The sleeves have a Velcro tab at the wrist and they too now need a stud to keep them closed but that's a minor issue except when I put my gloves on.

I don't have an issue with the neck as it zips all the way up but on warmer days I leave the zip open a little.

Having had a look at the proposed jacket illustrations and clicked on to picture see the larger version of the photo's. I just know I'm going to cook in a jacket that doesn't have full mesh panels at the front and back, as I already cook in my current full mesh jacket when it gets above about 28 degrees.

Sorry but I'm going to pass on this one even though the jacket looks fabulous in the Ozstoc colours  :thumbs

The rear pocket if it goes from hip to hip so its around 350mm across and 200mm high is perfect to fit either your thermal liner in OR a Hydration bladder on its side.......thats how I use my current Summit Pro jacket.  :thumbsup

We are just ticking a few boxes, and we are getting a physical sample made, then it will do a special RTE in each state for those who can get there to see it, so that we get a good viewing before we go to production.

So hold off until that happens  :thumb

This whole process is still has a way to go, so just make sure you get along to see it first

TOTAL 59 Jackets So far!

There has been great input to creating this jacket. It will be great touring jacket suitable for the broadest range of climatic conditions and to suit a large range of rider.
This jacket will have a high amount of well placed ventilation in addition it will have 2 removable linings – a Breathable Reissa waterproof lining and a thermal lining.
The  jacket will be of high quality and perform excellently for its purpose.

1.   Touring style length as per image.

2.   Cordura 600D with heavier weight Cordura at elbows up to the shoulder area, For added protection. Risk Areas  1200 Denier Polyester MATT1200 Denier Polyester MATTT.

3.   With Dual density CE protection, back, shoulders elbows for impact protection.

4.   Increased ventilation provided by 3 pairs,  -6 zips at the front of the jacket - 2 pairs at the chest region and one pair at the bicep region which will be particularly effective because it would be outside the faired region. There will be 2 pairs of zips at the area to encourage the warm to flow. At the wrist to the elbow there is a vent of approximately 250mm. Of course for ventilation to function correctly the 2 lining would be removed.

5.  In addition to the outer shell there is actually 3 linings. The mesh lining which remains in the jacket.  The Waterproof removable Reissa lining. The Thermal Lining which is weight of the quilt is 100 Grms is also removable.
6.   Plenty of pockets 6 pockets at the front, the rear pocket, 2 inside pockets and 2 inside pockets when the lining is removed.

7.   Scotchlite for night time visibility across the chest and the back rear

8.   The collar to be sueded fleece collar.

9.   The neck will be Velcro fastening.

10.   The arms & forearms to be adjustable so the jacket is close fitting.

11.   The waist fitting will be adjustable so it will be close fitting.

12.   The back of the shoulder to the side seam 5 cm. action panel to enhance comfort.

13. The neck gator as shown in the image will not be included.

14. The jacket will have the OzStoc embroidered badge on the left side of the chest.

15. The colours to be as specified by OzStoc. The exact layout of the coloured panels will match the actual design /cut of the jacket as per image.

15. We will have a colour swatch in the next ten days or so. The orange that we are considering selecting is referred as Repsol orange. Which is more subdued than some. It is felt that for some who would like the jacket to be brighter there is the option of wearing a hi Vis vest over the jacket.

Once consensus is reached a sample will be ordered and viewed for final approval.

We will have pricing available in a couple of days. The pricing of the jacket is based on an order being placed of at least 40 units. The orders will be confirmed by payment in full for the jacket.
