These brackets will be made as per fitment as close as possible to OEM. style.Including the mounting bolts but not including the plastic cover piece , you will have to slit and then reuse your original covers.or source new ones for yourself
The  initial estimated supply  price will be approximately $85.00 including  Local Australian wide  Postage

When you mention slitting plastic, I'm deducing you're talking about under-mirror brackets, because the police over-mirror ones don't require slitting the plastic (unless you're talking about the rubber in-fill).

I'm pretty sure the 1100 & 1300 brackets are not the same. I think Winston66 is talking about the rubber inserts. I'm interested in a set for the 1300 please.

Definitely not the same but it would make sense for production purposes (less costs for new tooling etc.) if it was possible to use the same part on more than one model.

Hi everyone,
It is great to get your responses and here are some answers in order to try to clear up what I would like to offer.

This initial fitment is for the ST.1300 only, as I have only this one style of the OEM brackets.
It will be an over the top of the rear vision mirror fitment only.( One each side)
The plastic that I referred to is the soft plastic (rubber) cover piece that is fitted between the mirror and the rest of the opening and would face the rider and which also will surround the upright portion of the bracket that comes out from beside the mirror.
As far as I can discern the fitment for the ST1100 is quite different and I do not have any pattern for that model.
Thanks for your interest and please keep the feedback coming.

Cheers winston66

I made myself a set of ove the mirror brackets for my 1100. They are similar to the factory ones, but cost me a lot less. If enough people were interested, I could probably run some more up. I will take some pics and post them here if anyone is interested.

I'm certainly interested.

I've seen some with the rubber slit factory version.  I noted that at the top of teh slit there was a cout out like it had been hole punched first, which I assumed was to help stop the rubber tearing.

Cheers,
Gary

Your pole offers paint colour...

Why not powder coat. Its harder and will resist the bug spatter and road grime much better not to mention rubbing in the parcel whilst in transit to its new owner..

Be very careful in your study of pre existing units already on the market to be sure your item is sufficiently different so as not to incur any unpleasantness.

I doubt powder coating is something that Winston could offer in his remote location......but you could get them done in a larger centre in various colours :like

Hi Winston66,
Thanks for the reply.
My ST is in the mechanic's having under mirror lights fitted as we speak.
I am still interested but will have to hold 5 for the moment to check how the current draw is?
What I meant in the post was that if you wanted a set of Police ST1100 over mirror brackets we could do a deal for a set of yours. If not all good but I will get back to you as soon as I get the bike back & check
Stay safe & upright.
Cheers Bill.

Hi Winstone , i am interested in a set.

Just out of curiosity would you be able to make the light mounting bracket sit 100mm higher to clear mirrors wearing wind deflectors ?

From memory i think Diesel got a standard set modified by a local "smithy" with an extra section welded in give more space for his wind deflectors & fit lights.

Cheers,
Duncan.

I have a right hand side over mirror Bracket from my former bike if some one wants it. (Pick up my place.  Currently painted blue.

On the way back from Balranald I did have the thought that it might be possible to make a bar to go between the two mounts and  have a twist in it to match the angle the body work to mount a LED light bar with spotties in the Centre and spread beams on the outside edge.
The Twist would also help with rigidity to reduce vibration of the lights.
Cheers,
Gary

Hi STimpy,
Please check out the photo for comparison to the original police one in the middle.
With my brackets you will notice that the top portion is longer,  it extends further forward, by approx 45 mm and the holder for the spotlights is approx 10 mm higher than the police issue.
I have done this so as to get extra clearance as would be needed for a larger style after market screen , and or larger diameter lights.
My model for a screen is a V stream , and also a Bike Quip screen which measure approx the same across the wide part of the base as the OEM but the profile is different and moves in relation to the spotlights on the bikes that have the electric adjust .
I could do a special custom job but I would need  a true model to base it on and I have never seen the wind deflectors that you mention.
In my opinion lifting the lights an additional 100mm would not be practical , too much windage causing undue vibration, and would look quite unsightly.

Cheers Winston66
