Mirror cover cable
« on: June 16, 2014, 06:35:36 PM »
After taking my mirror covers off for painting, noticed there's some plastic cable type things tucked neatly inside , connected to the cover but not to the fairing, i looked up the owners manual on line and they are supposed to stop the cover falling off if they get bumped, where is the cable supposed to be connected to the fairing ?

There should be a vertical slot in the hole the wires come through.  The "lump" in the retainer goes through the hole and the retainer drops into the slot.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

The end off the cable tie goes through the hole with the slot in the side cover......if you drop the cover the end of the cable tie mostly catches the cover.......but to be sure, add another small cable tie zipped up through the Honda tie and have a loop around the size of a 10 cent coin.......push this small cable tie through the hole, if you drop the cover this one will catch it for sure  :like

Thanks guys, will have a look in the morning. Any one got some of those little spacer pieces that go between the mirror and the fairing, mine are missing.
