You won't need the magnet kit as I think the unit can hook up to existing VSS on 1300.

You missed it again at Caiguna. It all came off there.
Ordered fan switch today from The Honda Shop. Original price was $129. OzSTOC discount made it $108.something. Ex Melbourne due Friday or Monday.

The switch on my ST1100 played up once or twice a while ago, but then started to work consistently. I may need to get a switch just in case it needs it just when I need to use the bike.

Mine has magnets located in the heads of the Allen cap head bolts on the rear rotor. The cruise control is made in Box Hill, Melbourne by a couple of guys working out of their back yard.... All works great, they helped me fix a couple of issues, and I had to replace the rear wheel sensor once, it was too close to the disc.... Works very well, and professionally made....

A place online does rare earth magnets, forget who. I have two spares so can take a picture and measure them up, or send one over so you can look around.. The earlier McCruise magnets stood out a little bit from the bolt head, later ones seen to be flush. Either way you need some other magnets  to stack up and get them out, as they are stuck fast. How one of mine went missing I don't know.

I just measured my two spare magnets.  5.92mm diameter, 6.02mm height. With those dimensions the magnet will sit out a little from the bolt, whereas the latter ones seem more flush. In any case you have to adjust the air gap to suit.

Excellent Saaz ... thanks for that. I may well take those measurements to Jaycar Brock ...
I have been speaking with Reg_Siemens on the US site as he seems full bottle with the Rostra's and it makes me feel a lot more confident in the install....
Most comprehensive write up is at
http://my-mc-phoenix.com/viewtopic.php?f=68&t=7784&hilit=rostra
But it seems he missed a bit bringing it over from the old my-mc site which is the part relating to making a longer arm for to attach to the throttle.
I have messaged him to see if he still has the info somewhere....
Here's hoping.

Reg is the one I remember fitting a Rostra cruise. From memory he used one that interfaced with the ignition rather than using the magnets, but the basics are the same.

He has done 3 now and the write up mentioned is for tacho with wheel magnets...
He also did some Audiovox ones using vaccuum.
I will pull from both as the tacho gives you over rev protection on the engine if you grab a handful of clutch while the magnets will give pulse.

Being a manual you should have a clutch switch to cut the cruise off should that happen.

I have 2 spare magnets supplied with my MC, response to alans, if the clutch is pulled in the engine still revs quite high until the servo unit can pull the throttle back, I tried it as an alternate way to disengage rather than applying brake lightly.

Yep- the MCC doesn't reference the tacho for the over-rev- just uses the clutch switch to cut the CC.  As Yorkie says, it does get some revs up before the vacuum releases the throttle.
I usually just tap the front brake to release the CC because the brake light switch there seems to be more sensitive than the rear one.

Don't worry too much about how ugly the control box is.  It looks to be a similar size to the vacuum cannister on the McCruise, so it will fit in the tail section out of sight, particularly if you put something on top of it - I have the main head unit of a split GME UHF radio on top.
