I do have that ringing in the ears problem - what's it called "Tinnitus" or something similar.

Tipsy, your hearing loss may be in the lower registers, which can happen when working around heavy machinery.

My test swas average, but the room was noisy and I'm not sure if the ear buds have a good high frequency response

I see you've solved the challenge of posting actual posts to have a modest history on the forum.

I got just under 100 or around 14,000 Hz.

Of course it will depend on the quality of the headphones and what amount of amplification is provided.

Rough indication bu not as god as a proper hearing test.
Cheers,
Gary

I couldn't hear anything, even with earphones.

My hearing has been juicy-fruited for years, also an occupational hazard, but in my situation probably from working in bars with very, very, very loud bands back in the 70's & 80's.

Mine tested average but I still have trouble hearing in noisy environments like crowded pubs and bars. I think it's called industrial deafness.

Not too bad I think. Grandma in my left ear and fair in the right. At 62 Grandma is probably acceptable :)

Probably should wear ear protection more often, but.....

Maybe I should try it again when I eventually save up the $$$ to buy the hearing aids I've been prescribed.  Problem is they would cost more than replacing my ST.......

I guess it's all about priorities :think1 :think1 :think1
