Cant recommend any but they are $60 each set at Aldi on Saturday. I might take a risk as they are so cheap.

Here are some options for you to research.......

You need to ask yourself do you want intercom only or add Phone/Music/UHF or GPS to the system ??

These are the Bluetooth manufacturers I'm aware of
Scala
SENA
Bikercomm
Aldi
Shark
Nolan

Wired intercom

Autocom
Starcom

I have used Starcomm (ST1100) and Bikercomm (ST1300) and for my purpose's SENA (SMH10) is for me  :thumbsup

For bike to bike conversing, then Sena is an excellent option.

I was able to talk to Wombat over 500 mtrs away, probably closer to 1K. Sena say it wilp work (SMH10) to 500mtrs.  The newer ones further than that.

If you need more range, add Senas SR10 coupled to a UHF radio. The hand held work OK, but the Car type even better.,

I also use the Sena SMH10, it is easy to use, has great battery life and clear sound (be it music, phone calls or intercom to others.)

It can also connect up to other Bluetooth intercoms from other manufacturers :thumbs

Remeber guys, the question was about Bike to Bike. So ok for rider to pillion stand a good chance of being less than ok over a distance at touring pace.

Also goes with out saying that wired intercom probably wont work due to the cord getting tangled in the wheels.

On the way back from Mooloolah, to great amusement, Diesel and I discovered Marion can activate and communicate through PC's UHF CB.

Curious to know what he is using.
Cheers,

I turned down the microphone gain to low on my Sena SR10 and apparently the background noise has gone.

The antenna on these Plug'n'plays are very budget Duncan and they are a magnetic base.....so without a metal ground plane it will give pretty ordinary coverage.......just say'in

Get a ground independent antenna  :thumbsup

I gather you all ready have or will be buying the SR10 hub ?

Mounting a decent antenna on the rear of the bike would be the go.Just plug it into the unit when in use.
I like this for the ease of attachment & the plug & play.
Prolly not waterproof but how often does it rain ....

down the microphone gain to low

Its better to turn the mike gain up full, and turn the VOX off.  It worked well for Wombat and I smh10 to smh10, ( Except when he had the chin bar up).

If you have the mic gain low, and you have a UHF, then no-one will hear you.

Brock,
I'm using an Icom 400 pro, and everyone was complaining there was a lot of background noise and sounded distorted and it was easier to understand me when I moved the microphone away from my mouth and almost whispered. After turning the mic gain on the SR10 down, the same people could clearly heart me at normal speech levels. I use it with an Aldi Bluetooth headset.
Cheers,
Gary

Aldi headset.....

My comments were for the SMH10 heaset, not the SR10 interface unit. Dont know about the Aldi thingys.  Also with the SMH10, turn off sidetone as that can keep your mic open.

Stimpy,

I have a heap of the aluminum U channel that my antenna is mounted on. You can have a piece to mount your antenna on. I would recommend a 4.5 dB gain independent ground antenna.
Cheers,
Gary
