FINAL DRIVE OIL CHANGE As demonstrated by Diesel :thumbsup
This should be done every 10000 to 16000 kms
Place oil tray (or ice cream bucket) down to catch oil and remove lower bolt
NOTE: Before removal of the bolt make sure the large cap above and to the rear can be undone

Remove the large cap above and to the rear of the previously removed bolt and place a tube on the new container of final drive oil

Replace bottom bolt and torque it to 14lbs. (Replace crush washer too if required.) Pour the new oil in where the large cap was until the oil is all the way up to the hole then replace the cap.

I would only add that before you undo any drain plugs I would loosen the filler plug, just in case you find the little bugger is bloody tight and you may need to relocate the bike to a workshop . . Not good to ride it without any oil in it . .

Just went through this process today. I was surprised how little oil drained from the drive assembly, around 175ml - not much I thought. Filled-up to point where a little excess flowed out the top hole, took around 200ml - still not much I thought. Had trouble finding how much oil there should be, most references (on the net) to the final drive oil change doesn't mention it.
Finally, I found a reference in the small owners manual (read the instructions first - d'oh!), it wasn't there when I first looked, I swear. Anywat this indicates that the capacity is is 155cm3 - I suppose the Honda translator mean't 155ml - and even less than earlier thoughts.

Yep, thats about right. A 1 litre bottle of oil lasts a long time. The diff doesnt use oil, and it doesnt really get hot so no need to change too often.

I know, 'cause that's wot I said. What I was trying to get across is that the normal metric way to express volume of liquid is to use millelitres, milliliters for Yanks (ml), rather than cubic centrimetres (cm3). Although there are some special units such as, barrels (for oil), olympic pools (we hear that often but ATM I can't recall the context), Sydney Harbours (ditto).

Yep, thats about right. A 1 litre bottle of oil lasts a long time. The diff doesnt use oil, and it doesnt really get hot so no need to change too often.
Here's an extract from the owners manual re. service intervals. According to this, the litre bottle I bought should be good to 200,000km or so.

By the time it gets to them km I won't be riding, or even own the ST, and the oil will be way past it's use by date. It was such an easy job, I think I will do it every 2nd engine oil change.

Had to Google that, and Google tells me that a shaku is a unit of length.
Google also tells me that ten cubic shaku comprised a koku, reckoned as the amount of rice necessary to sustain a peasant for a year. I'll now sleep easy tonight.
