Anything planned?
I think I will stick around town, maybe spend some time on the foreshore to see whats shakin'
-
I'm going to work :'( but I hope everyone else has a great day :hatwave
-
Got a bit of grass to mow (slash? Cannot find my cat in it). :whistle
-
I can remember many times that I had to work on holidays because of shiftwork, and industries which cannot just be shut down.
Public holidays are now one of the benefits of retirement.
:thumb
HINT:- :grin Locate cat first before slashing.
-
We're going to be "Coffee Shop Commandos" and are going for a short ride with some friends to a cafe in the hills. :thumb

Public holiday. What public holiday maybe for some. My crowd don't believe in giving you days off :cuss
Everyone have a Happy Australia Day
:beer
-
I grew up in heavy industry, where shutdowns dont happen, and with rotating shift work being the go, I rarely had the luxury of a public holiday.
3 cheers for retirement, EVERY day is a holiday! :grin
-
Good News; cat found and grass cut down to size. Had banana sandwich for lunch and now have to rest my back, might even check the inside of my eyelids.
Retirement, where every day is a Saturday.
-
Very lazy Australia Day at Meringandan. Had meat pie for lunch. It was a chicken pie - does this make me a slightly woosy aussie?
I find that the main problem with retirement is that I miss out on public holidays.
Ho Ho Ho

Well, as far as lamb on the barbie goes, I failed.
Instead I had some left over slow cooked chicken in a variety of honey and sauces, and threw a packet of macaroni cheese into the mix.
Resultant goop in the slow cooker was about the consistency of sloppy canned cat food with lumps of overcooked chicken through it... but it tasted pretty good!
Local ‘Rentacrowd’ Yibberdageries held a noisy ‘Invasion Day’ protest in town here today, blocking traffic at the
main street city block and intersection for over three hours, and refused to move until the cops finally started arresting them,
and running relays to the lockup. I could hear the racket from my flat but a friend who was caught in the traffic phoned me with details.
There were around 300 people involved, but I bet it doesn’t even get mentioned on the news.
-
Happy Straya Day Everyone!!!!
Hope you all had a great day, threw a prawn on the barbie and had a piece of lamb.
-

Shot some roo's, spayed some burs and had a chat with some long time locals. All the Australia Day stuff too.
Australia Day... not a-stray day.
I like working on Australia Day. Its what we all do to make the country as good as it is. If your retired then you probably did your bit ages ago and deserve the day off too.

Thanks Kev.
That's the table we had our dinner at.
The arch wasn't there at the time. It is there because a couple from Washington State are getting married there today around 12:00 pm Fiji time (10:00 am Qld/ 11:00 am)
Kev,
Can you please try and catch a snapshot of them getting married as we've heard she has a huge dress she brought ask the way from the States.

Thanks so much Kev.
If was great to see Terry and Crystal's wedding.
That dress was brought in from the States on over 25 hours of flights.
Crystal's Mum talked Terry into eloping, and then talked Crystal into it and helped Terry with the engagement ring.

No problems Gary, Its just a shame that the camera only took pics every 10 to 12 minutes, could have had many more views.
