At 5.29 of the video. What was that crunching noise? was he scrapping the pegs or couldn't he find the right gear???

The Panniers look like they aren't big enough to hold a helmet, unlike the ST1300.

We tried shoving a helmet into one of those CFMoto 650 and it wouldn't go in...

Here it is with the taller windshield.

To me it looks about the same height as the ST1300 with it's windshield down, so really... no protection

Pinched from a Trumpy by the looks of it.  The rear baffle will fall out soon...

Nice unit. But is there any such thing as MORE low and mid range power than a ST1300?  lol

I like it.

I have noticed a few ex-ST1100 riders stall the ST1300 a few times when they first get it.  Perhaps just making it unstallable, like the ST1100?, to suit the type of riders who might buy it (ie ex V twin owners)

ST11s are unstallable?  I don't remember that!  How do they achieve that?

Mine is Biggles, can't remember ever having it stall. So you stalled yours a few times did you?  Having observed former ST1100 owners stall their ST1300 a few times in a row for no real reason seems to make sense, as they seem to need more revs at low speed to get going.

STroppy did it quite a few times to start with as well.  May be something to do with the EFI/throttle being different to carbs.

Yep from the look of some of their more recent concoctions I think they are trying to corner the market of ugly vomit bikes

As much as we senior riders don't like them, the young cashed up ones think they are 'cool' or 'sick' (or something like that) and will probably buy heaps of them.
I had to chuckle when the bloke doing the review talked about the fairing keeping the wind off him (in the bubble his term), obviously has never ridden an ST in the rain and still been dry. That is what a 'proper' fairing does, not some half way thing that just looks 'cool'.

It has nothing going for it except it's new - and that will wear thin pretty quick in my opinion.  :well  :well  :well
I acknowledge hardworking Australians no matter who they are or where they come from. All those who have contributed to this wonderful country deserve an equal share of gratitude for their contributions. To single any group of individuals out for special homage only denigrates the rest of us.

Hmm.  Dramatic!  However, it sounds like the big advance on the ST1300 is a sound system.  Well the ST13s have got the grille for speakers if you wanted to fit a mobile jukebox.

He can keep his 2" pseudo-windscreen.  I like a bit more wind and rain protection.

With the 2" windscreen that is why he has to ride with a hankie over his face.  :rofl

All I'm saying is, if you close your eyes, relax and listen to the dulcet tones of the commentary, you must surely agree. You want one. And you want one now. They sound just like what motorcycling dreams are made of.  Then,  :eek, you open your eyes !!!!! Your reality is a nightmare. :fp

The only positive I can see out of the CTX1300, is at least they are still making the engine, so down the track there may be new engines to repair the STs.  :grin

I have to take the reviewer to task over the 7,000 RPM red-line on ST1300s.  Mine is 8,500.

Cheers,
Gary

which you never get to.  It sounds horrible above 6000.
