At last an RTE that I can attend. Now that I am well enough and my bike is back together and its in my part of the state, put me down for an attendance. :)
:bl11
seems like a good we will be there at this moment. (just think! NSW will get the shirt and bike count for the record attempt thought)
I will definitely be there, probably taking and extra day there and back riding roads like Thunderbolts, the Oxley, the Putty road etc etc. Life is tough but someone has to do it! Lionel should turn up as well, and Perhaps Terry from Canberra. It is 850kms the shortest way from here.
Oh, and I promise to bring a Honda of some sort this time :thumbs

Look out Marissa, he's got his beady eyes on your bike!
Is anyone from Brizvegas planning to doing anything other than a run straight down the highway through Warwick, Tenterfield etc to get to Inverell ?
I've done all of the other roads that lead that way so will probably do the highway just for a change?

John, if you can get Lionel and Terry to go, then count me in!
It would be great to catch up with the Snowy crew again! :)
Barry, Terry is properly retired so has less time than even me to go on rides! I am getting him organised into getting his priorities right...I mean he now has a Mercedes SLK so we may not be allowed to talk to him... >:()I will definitely be there, probably taking and extra day there and back riding roads like Thunderbolts, the Oxley, the Putty road etc etc. Life is tough but someone has to do it! So long as you don't have your camel back tapped into it for the ride up, there might just be enough left for one good night in Inverell. We did find in Blackheath that these ST riders are a thirsty lot :grin

I'm with you Barry , we will show them that you can drink and not burn your arse :butt :rofl :rofl :rofl :blk13ok now we can get this back on track.....:)

There are a few of us planning on meeting at Warwick on teh Saturday morning to ride down the highway together. No meeting times have been worked out as yet, but watch this space for updates. Your most welcome to join us of course!
I've talked to a mate and he's going to come, on his ST1100, and we'll be arriving via the Oxley Highway.
When I convince him that the Ozstoc site (well the internet really) is secure we'll have another NSW member and he's also on the Mid North Coast.

Aj1300, just back from Goulburn last Friday. The way I go is from Bathurst, Sofala to Mudgee, Coolah, through Premer to Werris Creek to Tamworth. All good roads and very little traffic.
Vance & Hines
Stevo, that's sort of the way I was going to go,but turn left at Carrol toManilla up to Bingara, right toCopeton dam,Inverell.
On the way back I thought of Thunderbolts way, work my way to the Putty Rd as I have heard it's a good road, then suck it and see. Open to any ideas if anyone's got a better way.I've got 2 days up and 2 back.or I could try and do it back in one run. No I think I better take my time.
Thanks Stevo, cheers Adam :blk13

I am 'going for it' on my trip to Inverell......
Google Maps puts it at 500km, and I reckon I can do it on ONE TANK of motion lotion..... :think1
http://goo.gl/maps/IL1Q8 (http://goo.gl/maps/IL1Q8)
I will, or course have a 2 litre jerry on stand by.
Should be quite doable on these roads under the group ride conditions. :wink1
I'll let youse know.
Cheers, Diesel
Been no luv n kisses for nearly 14 years..... :runyay
But well see how the weekend pans out... :rofl :rofl :crackup

Yeah that's a good idea Harie but should we have some music playing in the background?
I've got friends in Inverell and I know what the weather's like, might be a night for some Green Steam if we're outside.
Brad
Stones Green Ginger wine, a time honoured way to warm up after a cold day in the saddle
Stones was an integral part of going to bike rallies as they used to be, in the middle of winter, camp fires going and Stones hopefully keeping you from being that bloke who always slept in the camp fire...
I wasn't sure which way to go on the way down. Looks like Diesel's plan for the trip down would suit me.
Diesel, do you want to meet up some and travel down together? Say BP Kallangur?
Gadget
you can link up with me
Brendale
BUT will go via Gateway
and meet up with Tipsy
at say
Logan / Gateway merge, about 1/2 K past Mt Lindsay Highway
this makes sense to me
but willing to spell it out a bit more
I'll be cracking on down with Diesel. Looks like you, Diesel and I wil be going the via the Gateway.
How about we meet up at the roundabout on the Gateway at Boondall Entertainment centre at say 6:45am and then cruise on down with Diesel.
Cheers,
Gadget.
i'll be on my usual pickup point
just past the PINE bridge
a flick of the high beam
is all the encouragement that i'll need
does 6:30 suit you " D " !
what about shiney and carol
are you going to join us ??
Hey Diesel,
Do you have a guestimate on arrival at Beaudesert? Rob Mc and I will be travelling thru from Canungra-Gold Coast.

sounds a bit ambitious to me closer to 70 K i would thinkThat's why I posted it. I know what I average and have done since the early seventies. But I ride a lot, but no where near as long as you, but as most know I still ride near 6 out of seven and have done so for close on 40 years now
DickoThis may help
Around 7 am will be fine , the car park to the golf club will likely be closed at that time so will meet you out the front. Its probably a good idea if we exchange mobile numbers in case anything unforseen happens.
Mine is 0412 168114
Rob
LOL try this

G'day Dicko - we're not actually passing through B'desert - but if you and Rob can be at or around " B " on this map around 8.00am.....
http://goo.gl/maps/nudbS (http://goo.gl/maps/nudbS)
... you won't miss us riding past. Make sure you're a couple a mins early and all will be fine. :thumb
Hope to see your "pillion in a million" again too. :thumbsup
Cheers, Diesel
just imagine
a naked tipsy standing beside a naked biggles
Diesel, should i carry extra fuel in my legal plastic Jerry can
i only get about 468 K's MAXIMUM to a tank
don't want the embarrassment of CALLING for help if i run out
prefer to come insured
your advice will be appreciated

G'day Harie - no - you will NOT get in to fuel troubles as we are stopping at Warwick for brekky/fuel and this will ENSURE you make it to inverell - or you can splash n dash at Glen Innes if you need - it's just that I WON'T be fuelling at these stops as I am doing a fuel endurance test. I'll still be smashing in bacon & eggs tho! :eat :thumbs
And thanks for doing a little bit of a recce. I realise that these times are very rubbery and flexible, and at the very best - approximate - but we have to use something as a base. Maybe punters could arrive a few mins earlier than planned, to ensure the main group hasn't already ridden past.
That goes for anyone - if the group is 10mins later than expected with no word - then ride on as we may have passed that point.
Hope this helps.
Cheers, Diesel
Streak - I'm guessing we will be able to get stickers and patches etc for us newbies if you have room in one of those boxes stuck to the bike.
And do I need to bring my own coffee cup or have you got one for me yet. :whistle
I had a close look at that road on google maps and yes it is tar all the way (when the shots were taken anyway), this was one option i looked at also to inverell.
Any thoughts on the return trip?
I have been considering the Gwyder from Glen Innes to Grafton, then Summerland Way to Casino and Kyogle. Then the choice is to return to Brisbane via Uki, Chillingham and Numinbah Valley or out to Woodenbong and the Mt Lindsay Hwy through Beaudesert.
Could consider the Lions road though might be a little late in the day by then. The big factor for me is that my other half will want to be home reasonably early (4:00 pm).
Another, not so appealing, option is Casino to Lismore, Bangalow and the freeway home, with all its 4 wheeled traffic.
I would hazard a guess that our friends would be keen to do the Gwyder as it is a great ride.

If anyone wants to have a cabin bed but can't fill a cabin let me know. As I have already paid for it someone may as well use it, as if they can't rent it I am out of pocket anyway. I will have to let them know the name(s) of those who would be using it.
Hi guys, I just rang up to conferm my booking and I just found out that I have 4 spare bunk beds. I have the double. If you want linen it's extra or bring your sleeping bag etc. Just let me know so I can tell them when I get there. Cheers Adam :blk13
Hi Shiney, it's $10.00 per person, not too sure on the linen I don't think it much though. I will wear the cost of the cabin, it has an outside on suite .I only need a place to sleep. I passed on the hot tub. Next tripAwesome, thanks mate :hatwave :thumbs
Something astray in the planning of this little trip for the SE Qlders.
Meeting point is a layby in the middle of nowhere.
What happened to the civilised starting point at a purveyor of the fine fresh coffee necessary at that hour of the morning.
Must be someone who lives close by and can finish their cuppa walking out the door.
Now, reverting to my very very nice me, who's got a spare bunk.
come on SA
we NEED one attendee

Total for me was 823 km (my speedo reading) in exactly 11 hours (sorry a little slow for some of you) But what a bloody good ride it was.
Adam is still riding and is hoping to get to the Vic border to camp.
Heirachy Question Time - Will this qualify for a far ride either 1000 km or 1200 km if he gets a receipt before he camps tonight?????? Or did he need to register the attempt before starting ???
:phone please call me on this or aj1300
Again thank you to all. :-++ :beer
Woops I nearly forgot - Thanks to Adam especially for his great company in the past 3 days as a riding buddy and for helping me pick up the bike off the petrol station forecourt in Goulburn when I got off with out the stand down..... :|||| (no damage to bike at all :runyay ).
