I got back today a bit after 7pm.  As the weather was so good I decided to keep going and get the 900kms over and done with to get home rather than stop off. Decided that I had to do the whole of the Putty Road, so went down the New England (Guyra looked quiet as all the rowdy residents were away on a bike trip eating curly fries I believe).  Did about 1800kms for the trip.  No rain at all when riding, only when on a pub veranda contemplating life!  I will download some pictures and put up a link, but watching Motogp is getting in the way.

A few more shots taken at breakfast time.

The real campers (tent) reported 3o overnight.  Everything outside had dew on it in the morning.

Made it home just before midday today after a short wet trip back up the highway after staying in surfers overnight.
Started the trip with Diesel Paul Dicko Barry & Hilary in Beaudesert, then onto Texas to meet the rest of the posse.
The return journey from Inverell was essentially a game of tag with Barry & Hilary as they passed me while having breaks along the way.
I caught up with them in Tenterfield for a coffee & again in Casino to refuel as they headed for Kyogle while i continued out onto the highway at Byron & headed north.
It was great to meet some new faces & catch up with some  " old " ones .
The speech saturday night was "presidential" & somewhat "STirring"  in it's length - the contents of which i'm sure
will be uploaded by the other 7 people that recorded it in due time, subject to court orders & injunctions being lifted  :spank

3 RED ST's & a lone Silver fox ....

Inspecting the ring-in's

Breakfast. Chris looks suspiciously dodgy in both pics   8)

Tenterfield with Barry & Hilary.

28 Bikes in Texas - go on , count 'em !

The 1 night in surfers when sadly violence took a night off.
The woeful Karaoke singer wailing away till all hours should count themselves lucky.Velly velly rucky indeed    |-i

All up covered 1024 km - every one of them pure gold  :grin
Thanks to Shiney i will be getting highway blades next & a very speccy D4 LED mirror mod via Abe.
See ya'll at the next shindig folks  :hatwave

Thanks everyone for  great weekend. This was my first OZSTOC RTE and won't be my last.

Photo attached is at Raspberry Lookout on the Gwydir Highway of Gary, Biggles, Dicko coming home (Dicko off somewhere watering a tree). A great spot to stop and take a break.

BTW - I'm happy we injected a few dollars into the local Lions club. Those service organisations do a great job.

Cheers

A few thank-you's must go out:-

To OzSTOC Members who came out and had a blast;
To Lions Club Members who provided the tucker and some off the cuff humour;
To Pockey and ST2UP for organising the lunch at Texas; and
To Barry Lane for generously supporting the Lions Club and picking up the final ceramic OzSTOC Mug by winning the charity auction.

Cheers, Diesel

now for the report of our trip-weekend

late but ready to set of to Inverell
had good trip until about Applethorpe then the winds we encountered were the worst I've ever uncounted, trailer made it worse.

made it safely to caravan park, quick hellos then to build the tent (which was still in box before we left)
thankfully with help from others we got tent erected

no piccies of Saturday night but others did and still collecting.
GREAT NIGHT.
just a few of stubbies was had then of to bed.
at around 3 am I looked at the temperature and it was around 3 dec, luckly my sleeping bag was rated at 5 dec (wished I knew were it was though)
found bag then thored out a bit. due to the time we had and problems with tire we really weren't properly prepared (lights, ground blankets and so on)
fresh morning when we got up to a great breaky done by Lions Club and chats ,goodbyes see yous later
a bit seedy so took time to break down tent and ready to leave 12 ish. better trip home just a bit of justly winds but tolerable. got home about 6.30 pm
great weekend 910 klms with trailer. not a bad effort. do it again soon  :hatwave  :rockon  :runyay
regards
           Royce
