Strictly speaking we all will be leaving more than 24 hours before crossing the border into NSW.  So I'll have a small laptop / tablet with me (I find it easier to use than an iPhone, much bigger screen and less fat finger mistakes), so as I can log-on and make my NSW declaration within 24 hours of crossing the border into NSW.  Probably will do this when we get to Mildura Friday afternoon, before the beers start, otherwise leave it to Saturday before we leave.

Nigel, Terry & Steve can use it, if they find it easier - only a small fee applies, beer is a recognised currency.

 :beer

When registering, you put in an email address and a copy of your declaration is emailed to you to keep on you iPhone or whatever.

Application for a permit to re-enter VIC (yes, one is needed) is not limited to 24 hours prior to enrty.  I have already sorted that one out, and saved it on my iPhone.

Thanks Russ, the ST's been packed and re-packed, and is now ready for a final pack.

Departure tomorrow AM will be around 30 minutes after Nigel sends a message as he leaves.  We're planning to rendezvous at Gaffney's Bakery at Heathcote around 9:00am, a quick coffee and then get on the road again.

JD & Vera leaving earlier and taking a different route, but our paths will join at Marong.

I've tried to convince Sue to do a road trip up there (in the car) but unfortunately she's working Friday & Saturday... :||||
Plus, after doing a runner up to Marysville last weekend & having to pay for my surgery yesterday, the ol' piggy bank is looking a little bare...
Oh well, maybe next time... :popcorn

Thanks all for some great company and many laughs.
Fantastic trip, bits of cold stuff, but no rain perfect.
Ended up the wrong side of Bendigo, so had to alter my course back to Heathcote so as to get to Seymour. Interesting roads.

Those that attended, it was worth it. :thumb

Back home this afternoon after spending the night in Patchewollock and visiting some of the silos. Thanks all for making it to Silverton, at one stage looked like it wasn’t going to happen. Special thanks to Johnny for diverting from his original travel plans and meeting in Silverton, safe travels brother wherever the roads take you  :like.
Cheers till the next one🤓

... at one stage looked like it wasn’t going to happen.

Yes but it did, and not without me (and probably others) with multiple checks of the BOM website to ensure that we would have a fair weather ride.

I headed north around 8:00am Friday and despite some forecasts of some rain enroute I encountered only a heavy mist on the way to Heathcote to meet Nigel.  There needs to be a meeting point, where better (at Heathcote) than Gaffney's Bakery.

Whilst waiting, I sampled the bakery fare, suffice to say that I'll return for another sausage roll and a coffee.

Nigel arrived around 9:45am, downed his coffee and we were back on the bikes and headed north via Elmore, then east via Pairie and Boort to Wycheproof (a bit of a detour to avoid traffic, added around 20km, but only a few minutes).  Lunch at the Bakery on Broadway at Wychie, fuelled up and heaed north again.  A pitstop at Ouyen and then Mildura by around 4:30pm.

Bikes were tucked-up for the night and as Terry and Steve has a coupla beers ready,we settled in for a chin wag ...

When thediscussion became dry we went for a walk (code for visited a coupla clubs) and then ordered a pizza.  The coupla beers turned into a few more ...

We slept well.

Cheers,  Williamson (AKA Michael)

Saturday ... an early start, fuel for bikes and riders at Wentworth - Jackpot Bakery on Adam Street (Silver City Highway), and then we headed north, about half-way to Broken a short stop at the Coombah Truck Stop.  Short because it was closed, Steve wanted to top up his fuel, but had to wait until he got to Broken Hill.

My last visit to Coombah was in 2012, it was June's Roadhouse then, there's a ride report on this AusTouring thread, in particular post #19 - http://austouring.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3970&highlight=coombah&page=4

At Broken Hill PC found us and then we went for lunch was at Charlotte's at the Grand in Argent Street (the main street) - https://www.google.com/maps/place/Charlotte's+at+the+Grand/@-31.9584521,141.4656461,20.5z/data=!4m13!1m7!3m6!1s0x6aef3360de52c2cd:0x40609b490440170!2sBroken+Hill+NSW+2880!3b1!8m2!3d-31.9595859!4d141.4608138!3m4!1s0x6aeeac293b37985f:0x209a2933424435ff!8m2!3d-31.9583936!4d141.4659628.

Despite the grumpy service (may have been June's sister that served us), the coffee and food was good, and is recommended.

A short walk after lunch, some charming, lovely old buildings, lots of history, worth at least a two day visit next time, then a short ride to Silverton.

Johnny, Jonathon and Vera arrived and we settled into our digs.

At around 4 O'Clock I could hear a beer calling our names, so PC, Steve, Nigel and I found the bar.  Ahh, Toohey's Dark Old on tap - YES!!!  The couple of hours to dinner were usefully fulfilled.

Dinner was inside, well a covered veranda, and despite a coupla heaters it was a tad cool.  The menu was quite acceptable, I think everyone enjoyed what was on offer.

It wasn't a late night for me, returned to the cabin around 9:00pm.

I'm sure others have pics to post.
