Title: Motorcycle Crash Card
Post by: JuST Peter on June 27, 2016, 04:50:56 PM
Yesterday I attended the introduction of the Motorcycle Crash Card at Brooklyn (NSW), which is a small card that motorcyclists and their passengers can carry in their helmets in the (hopefully) unlikely event of an 'off' or accident to help emergency services identify the wearer.

This is, at this stage, purely a NSW event, but hopefully, the other states will jump on board and make it a national effort to help "us".

It's recognised statewide by NSW Ambulance, NSW Police and Fire and Rescue NSW.

It was attended by a broad spectrum of the greater Sydney motorcycle community as well as Ambo's and Highway Patrol, who later moved to the Pie In The Sky where it was introduced to over 300 bikers. So far, Hornsby Shire Council has received over 260 calls for Crash Cards to be mailed out.

If any members of the other states and territories want this and think it a worthwhile exercise, lobby your local bodies and councils.
