Title: Howdy mates!
Post by: Otra on May 31, 2018, 02:26:18 PM
Have been riding a 2003 ST1300 sporadically since 2005 , mainly touring/camping out to New Mexico, Colorado, Utah and Arizona when having a chance.

Living in a country on the cusp on being made so unbelievably great again, I am afraid it may get to a point where I won't be able to meet the greatly improved standards and become a burden to my fellow citizens and may be better off jumping the wall and live somewhere else.

I would highly favor a "somewhere else" with a ST community, hence my joining OZStoners to snoop around and get an idea of what life may be like down there. Although I already have somewhat of an idea from friends who spent some time there, and mentioned that that there are all kind of wild creatures they had never heard of before but are infinitely more efficient at deterring illegal immigrants than any kind of wall would ever be. But trying to keep an open mind anyway.

Nothing to be too concerned about down here really.
If the sharks, spiders, snakes and drop bears don't kill you then the kangaroos, emus and wombats will have a crack at you while riding down the road.

Make sure you fly in with a valid visa and passport only as we tend to turn away people that come by boat  :eek

Gday mate!

We think it’s a pretty great place down here. But try not to pass that around. There’s enough folks from all over who want to come here already.

The main differences that I can think of is that we walk on our heads, we drive on the left and our STeeds are RH drive.

....spend x-mas partying on the beach!

Gday mate!

.... and our STeeds are RH drive.

Am looking forward to that. I saved all my front tires with premature wear on the left side hoping to wear out the right side while riding down under.

Well yes there is that too, but I didn't want to get you so wound up that you'd go do something impulsive. Arriving by boat is definitely not welcomed, but a scuba outfit with a little uranium-powered motor on the back could work.

There are still some of us who like to lie on the beach until we look like lobsters, and there are others who just like to eat them. (The lobsters that is. Cannibalism is still prohibited here).

If you're fleeing The Don, there are some of us here who wouldn't mind someone with his drive in our parlous Parliament.  Our dreary mob shouldn't be put in charge of a wheelbarrow.
You're welcome anyway.
Oh, and bring the bike.  They're becoming a threatened species here with the occasional fire, crash or tip-over.

You could have him, but you'd have to check first he doesn't have one of these NZ passports that seem to be so disqualifying...

I can see one of my first down under posts being about how to change the display from miles to kms.

Here in upright land, my posts are more on asking how to restore the display to miles after inadvertently changing it to kms!

Thank you for the welcome. I hope the Amazon blockade is not taking too much of a toll down there. Hoping you guys can get over that. I made it through hurricane Harvey last year, but not sure I could stand an Amazon blockade!

Half our politicians are gradually coming to realise they hold dual citizenship.  They only realise after someone else does a cursory examination of their past for them, then they deny it for 6 months before their mother comes out and demands to know why they are denying their heritage.   :spank
Then the leader of their woeful party says it was all thoroughly checked before the election and found to be perfectly legitimate, however, now they've been found out, they're summarily sacked in disgrace to save face for the flawless leader.    :||||

Eventually all the minions will be gone and we will be left with only the flawless leader. Then we will be like all the other great nations, China, Russia, NK, and the US of course :-)

Limited stint with militia only. Not long enough to blame loonitude on. Have to be somewhat mental though to ride an outdated nuts roaster in 45C + which temperamental SMC and weave can do you in when you expect it the least.

Resourceful crowd down there! Maybe thanks to the superior blood supply to the head. OZs might be able to put their hands on some M77 after all and save the splines. Next I might even learn where to get an ECU that doesn't throw a code 26!

Threads after threads here of riders inquiring if M77 really performs as well as good old Moly 60. Searched OZStoc but couldn't get a feel if the Aussies had already a good record using M77 or not?

I managed to get two tubes of the old Honda Moly 60 a few years ago. Bought it from a US Honda dealer in Michigan via their eBay page.

I think most of us are still using Honda Moly 60 (or Suzuki) as a tube does last awhile.

This is the only time I have seen M77 mentioned on OzStoc.  http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=12219.msg1228142#msg1228142 (http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=12219.msg1228142#msg1228142)
