Anyone meeting anywhere to ride over
If you are not sure where it is, see https://goo.gl/maps/1as6fNB6rCQ2Last time I was down that way I noticed OTR had set up shop just before the Hotel city side of the caravan park.
That gives au enough time for a morning cuppa at Pope's Bakery at Port Wakefield. :thumb
I'll probably be taking a scenic route.
:fp. My son has decided to move house the weekend of the ride. I am now unsure is I can make this one
Sounds perfect! With a prior engagement, you have the best excuse to avoid humping furniture and heavy boxes around. :grin
All I need do is check the tyre pressures and fill the tank for Saturday's RTE.
Will be at Caltex anyone else planning to be there
Hi all, I will be going to this RTA my first one, looking forward to meeting you all.
38 isn't that bad while you're on the move.Hi all, I will be going to this RTA my first one, looking forward to meeting you all.
Excellent! Although it's going to be a pretty warm ride, with a forecast of around 38. :H
Sorry folks, I've been in the Riverland on our Fruit Fly Response for the past week and its been a tad warm. A 39 degree forecast at Kadina for Saturday is too much for me. I've returned from Bordertown in 39-40 degree heat and I won't do it again (& I'm sure the good people of Tintinara are very glad to hear this - they suffered me stripping off the leathers in the main street and pouring water over myself to cool down). If you go, hydrate well and stay safe.
Thanks Pete, I too have a cooling vest but for mine to be effective it needs a lot of air for the Evap cooling effect. Under a DryRider mesh/leather jacket there just isn't enough air flowing through for the cooling effect (& its not designed for over the jacket) & I'm not prepared not to go ATGATT. I was going to ride the MT03 which would have been much more comfortable (heat wise) than an ST 1300. Oh well, 4 more weeks and I can go ANYTIME!!!
Unfortunately I'm a late withdrawal due to some family issues that have come up, my father going into aged care.
We had a good turnout at Kadina despite the hot forecast. JB and I met at Cavan and road to Port Wakefield where we had a leasurely cuppa at Popes Bakery, and rode on the Kadina to meet the rest of the riders. It was great to meet Mac55 from Peterborough on his first RTE, and others that I haven't seen for a while, including Mikep from Port Augusta. The required Flag Photo waas taken in the park opposite the pub as we were preparing to leave. I stopped at Dublin for a drink and to rehydrate my cool vest, and again for a drink at Cavan.
I had a fantastic day out, as I haven't had a decent ride for a while, and arrived back home at around 4.45pm. No photos from me I'm afraid.
