GUYS !  - - - PLEASE don't give our state government any ideas about toll roads !   :eek
You know how greedy those back room pen pushers can be    :-(((
Those 'rear-facing' cameras are bad enough.  :'(  (not that I speed any more these days)

you might want to look at their website. I don't use one on the bike but the bike is registered with them and the car also.  they take the photo and because i am on a bike they do not charge extra i just pay the normal costs for a bike.  The web site explains it better  :fp

I have an RTA tag that works on all the Australian tollways. It does work on the bike, you just have to have it somewhere where it can be recognised. I haven't tried it in many places as it is a bit hard to know if it beeps or not hidden in the lockable pocket or jacket.

All you need is an account with them and have funds in there.
then fees are auto deducted without extra charges.
Tags are NOT required for bikes,
I have also been led to believe that they will cover you in any state that unfortunately has toll roads.

I used to have a tag that I carried in my pocket and it worked fine. I recently rang Qld Motorways about paying a toll for an interstate friend and they confirmed the tag is not required anymore for motorbikes as they are difficult to mount etc and they use video technology to capture your numberplate. If you are registered with them and have money in your a/c they will deduct it for the toll. There is no monthly fee for keeping the a/c as originally proposed so it pays to go to the website or give them a ring and set up an a/c.
 They are very helpful. 1300 046 842.
