Title: Another Newbie
Post by: Breharna on November 04, 2012, 08:29:48 AM
Hi everyone

Just thought I would join the OZSTOC forum.  Having spent many years racing and testing in Europe and here in Australia (Vic), and retired from riding Hayabusas and sports bikes a couple of years ago.  I have owned a few ST1100's and last week got a frantic call from a mate pleading to buy my 2001 ST1100A, so I sold it for $$$$$$$.   This left me with a void to fill, so I bought a ST1300 and here I am.

If I can help, I am a bike mechanic and work on many friends bikes and get bikes ready for the track (Not ST's  :))

I still have a 1979 CBX1000Z, which I'll never sell.  I believe, if you have a certain type of bike you should always be a member of relevant forums.  Even if you think you are wise about bikes, there is still so much to learn from the forums.  It the first point of call if I'm stuck on a bike that has an odd issue.

Anyway, enough rambling, heres to a new beginning....

G'day Stewie - you live in a fantastic part of the planet I see. Hope your getting your fill of Philip Island racing!

Looks like you could be the go to man with your background in bikes too mate.     :wink1

Anyway - It's a pleasure to have you on board, and we hope you're enjoying the 13. All I can say is he must be one helluva mate to get someone to part with an 1100 - they are definitely keepers. But you have landed well and truly on your feet.      :grin

Thanks for the great intro, and hope to see you in March at Middleton.

Cheers, Diesel

Howdy!  I was just down the Mornington last week, after taking the ferry from Queenscliff. I am originally from Victoria so know the area.  And since noone has asked, how about your mate with the ST11 also joining up?  Victorian numbers are growing so hopefully a lot more will be happening down your way, including meeting up with the NSW/ACT crew down Bemm River way - keep an eye on 2013 events  :)

Diesel, thanks for the welcome, Phillip Island track is closing for a couple of months over Late Nov/Dec 2012 for track repairs/resurfacing, so track days and bikes to get ready for the track are slowing down.  All classes are booked out for the remainder of the year.   :cuss.  My next class is in Feb and its booked out.

Anyway, I'm trying to get time off work for the National Ride and loving the ST1300.  My mate who bought my ST1100A has hardly ridden it.  He just polishes it and admires it.  Ha ha.

Saaz, having said all that, I am talking my mate who bought my ST1100 to join up and come along to the National Meet in March.  I have sometime up my sleeve, so will work on him.  Just got in from a lovely ride around the Mornington Peninsula on the ST1300, jumped on the pushbike and saw a really nice silver ST1100 leaving the Marina where I lived.  He was too fast for me to catch on the pushie otherwise I would have grabbed hold of him for a beer.... :beer

Even though I work on these everyday, there is always something you learn for the many who own them.  Love the forum...

Speak soon

Did a bit of time in Mornington as well, went to Mornington Primary and some years later Mornington High. Lived in Mornington and Balcombe (When the Army Apprentice School was there)
