Streak, a couple of points to consider, Biloela is just under a 900 km ride from Townsville and around 500km from Brisbane. That time of year Bilo is freezing, temps drop below zero as Biloela sit on the western plains at 200 mts above sea level, more of in a bowl.
I spent 25 years in the area and worked many trains into Bilo when I was a driver.
Just some things to consider. perhaps Emu Park, Yeppoon or even Rockhampton would be a better choice.
Sab
I just had a look at that......1987kms.....just something to think about at the moment.... http://goo.gl/maps/B2ICH (http://goo.gl/maps/B2ICH)
Be like summer in July for us.........lol
So those thinking about the distance may be able to work on four days instead of two. More time on the bike riding for fun is always a good thing. :hatwave
Sounds like a good solid plan Alan. The good thing about having a plan to start with is that it can be modified if you want/need to. :thumbs Without one you got nothing to start with.
The essence of good planning, is not to set the plan in concrete as thats when things will go wrong. A good planner is always able to adjust the plan on the run.
Had thought about the distance issue for some people may be a struggle, because we all ride for our own reasons as we all know, but one of the reasons for locking the date and location so far out, as FarRiders would also understand, is to plan your ride, and possibly turn it into a long weekend with four days instead of two.

It is after all a Qld event so you can't really cater for any interstate interlopers. It is July down south, enough of a reason to go North :wht11 I just rode 800kms for a pie today, so have to get something better in Biloela :think1Had thought about the distance issue for some people may be a struggle, because we all ride for our own reasons as we all know, but one of the reasons for locking the date and location so far out, as FarRiders would also understand, is to plan your ride, and possibly turn it into a long weekend with four days instead of two.

Would have thought the fellowship of other OzSTOC members was better than a pie Sabie... That would mean the more the better from my point of view. :runyay :runyay
Maybe for Mrs and I for now. Will depend if I'm fishing on Fraser or not. I was born in Monto so would be good to explore. Have fond memories of Abercorn as small as it is.
I wasn't the one that rode 800 km for a pie Tack....
One last thought is that if I'm not going to China for the next two or three years I won't have to lay the monSTer up for that period, which makes me very happy!
I'm out, unfortunately. Theres still a bounty on my head in Biloela.
Seriously.
The only time i have been to Biloela, i visited the motel, bakery, pub & police station..... all within about about 100m crawling distance if i recall correctly :crackup
Count me in
:slvr13
Sorry Streak, I'm out of the Bilo run due to involvement in the Laverda Concors in Brisbane on the Sunday. Too many great things on. I could be away every weekend, but SWAMBO has this way of looking at me... :-[
Hey Sabie, if all else fail and we don't have jobs, we could ride up the Big Dad's pies at Deception Bay, or the BP Northbound, have a decent pie and coffee, and fake the trip from there. :grin
At least we'd be out and about on the machines for a couple of hours. :think1
OK so has anybody booked a cabin and has extra room available? It may be a couple of months away but this will go quickly people.
If nobody has anything available I will be looking at booking for Boxhead and I in the next two weeks, and will let everybody know if I have spare room.
Sabie it's good to see you riding buddy.
I have been speaking to Lisa who is working out the accomodation, there are three styles of cabins, budget starting at $60 with bathroom outside, standard starting at $80 with ensure, and superior starting from 130 nicer cabin with ensuite.
She said they quite a few bookings, so if your keen to come I would get in and book if I where you!

OK everybody just spoke with the the helpful Lisa and booked it in Eddie for myself and boxhead, sorry Sabie & Rex but I am not sharing a Queen size bed with you.
OK Just for information people the following is still available at this time:
Superior Cabin - x1 Queen & Sofa Bed & internal ensuite $130 - 3 left
Deluxe Cabin - x1 Queen & internal ensuite $80 - 2 left
Standard Cabin - x1 Queen & external ensuite $50 - 16 left
Powered site for any Campers @ $30 - 14 left.
Time to get yourself motivated. Don't have to pay the full amount on your card they will take a deposit and give you time to save up the huge expenditure in the mean time.
All you have to do is mention OZSTOC and they know exactly what & when to book you in for.
Now where are those winter gloves I used once.... :think1 :dred11
:think1
So, just to be sure which pricing is correct, are you saying that Tackleberry's quoted prices on 2 May are incorrect and confirming that $80 for a Standard Cabin is correct?
Regards
John
I've just booked a deluxe cabin ($80) - so I will see you there!
Harie, I have booked one of those $130 superior cabins if you get stuck. I don't care if I share or not (well depends on who!)
so
i seem to be now in 2 rooms ???
i'll just have to wait and see
but Bluey came in first
so he is first choice

Just booked the other day, still plenty of cabins....
Good to see Holzie :hatwave I just started having a look at ways to get up there, and most involve roads I have just been on getting to Bargara and back a week ago, so time to take a more interesting route and take another day or so getting there and back. But..have the Border Run not long after so need to spend a bit of time at home in between :think1

Hi Streak, Do you know where and when is the departure time for the Brisbane Riders going to Biloela on the 20th. :thumb :thumb
I've just spoken to the place in Biloela to confirm and pay the balance on my cabin. They have confirmed that the cabin I have has only a double bed in it - no bunks - so if anyone else is expecting there to be spare beds in their cabin, it would be worth checking that there are the bunks/beds you were expecting (soon - so alternative arrangements can be made if needed).Rang today ,Lisa O'Donnell ,no longer works there,i spoke to Emma ,had to book a family cabin to get two beds (I'm not that kind of guy)only $5 more than standard.Sabie ooh yer i'm most definitely ST on the inside.I promise i will have one before the end of the year.Looking forward to the ride and meeting all you lot.Noel :13Candy I want a red one!
Just a thought.

Sorry Harie, that was a typo, the 3 is next to the 2 and I missed it by that much. I gave the last one away to an old friend who has a black CX500 in showroom condition.... Absolutely beautiful.

HEY GENTS...
I am in Caloundra what way are you all travelling. Rather not go doen to Carseldine just to head back up this way..
Map tells me Bruce Highway but though you may be wanting something a bit more scenic.
My number is 0406115437. Please give me a ring or drop me a text with a meet up locale along the way.
Cheers
Bevan.
My rough plan at the moment, mainly to avoid the chance of heavier rain in places (been there, done that!) is Thursday Canberra -Goondawindi (overnight), then to Biloela for Friday overnight, sightseeing/riding etc until others arrive (may be cold beer in the fridge!), then back home Sunday somehow (may be through Brisbane to stay overnight there, but general plan is head south)

He Saaz, I'll be arriving Late Friday afternoon. Happy to give you a quick tour Saturday morning (not that theres that much to see, till everyone arrives... So that's the first 5 minutes taken care of..
Biloela has 3 power Stations Callide A, B and C. The area around Biloela is predominantly Cotton.
