Hi all, I and the missus would like to go but due to Sunday morning commitments every Sunday I wouldn't be able to get there before 2:00pm. Will anyone still be there at that time? Just wondering what the time period will be, since I would have to leave by 3:00pm to be back in Narrogin before it got to dark.

I'll put a cross on the wish list roster and drag out the wet weather gear, I hear there is supposed to be a lot of water in a weir.

Regards

HOFFY.

I've spoken to the people at Mundaring Weir Hotel.

We have a "booking" for breakfast. In other words I have warned them we are coming!

Aim to be there around 8.30 in the morning for breakfast. This is so that we are there before the crowds and team lycra.

Since we are a group we will have our own area.

But at a much lower volume than  the on the newer 80's !! Can be hard to hear until the volume is turned up on the older 40 Channel units, which is why I am still not sure if I am actually transmitting on mine yet. Can't see the truckies spending the money on a new CB until they have to!

Mine can be set to wideband on the first 40, so thats not a problem.

Or I can slot in the 40ch set, its basically the same

Now to suit up and get some fuel

Well it was a good nights sleep until the alarm went off on a Sunday morning for Malcolm's "breakfast" ride to Mundaring Weir Hotel. As I had not been there before, I decided to fire up the GPS to take me the more scenic way. Found the first of my obligatory glitches when I go on a ride. The GPS was not locking onto any satellites and could not find my destination! I was also riding where no roads exist in suburban Perth!!! After about 10 mins of riding and restarting the GPS, it decided to play. I went thru Kalamunda and onto Mundaring Weir Road which would have been a good ride, except for the very low speed limits and all the wet stuff on the road! By this time Brock and I had sort of communicated via our CB's confirming they both work ( mine, sort of ). About 2 minutes short of the breakfast meet I got another call from Brock ( who took the quicker route ) asking me where I was!

We had quite a reasonable turnout, considering the weather we have had here in Perth and all the "bugs" everyone has been getting!

(http://ozstoc.com/[URL=http://s353.photobucket.com/user/Netdummy/media/OzSTOC%20mundaring%202013/RS1_0069_zps238d1b6c.jpg.html][IMG]http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r379/Netdummy/OzSTOC%20mundaring%202013/RS1_0069_zps238d1b6c.jpg)(http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r379/Netdummy/OzSTOC%20mundaring%202013/RS1_0069_zps238d1b6c.jpg)

There were actually another couple of bikes that got hidden in the photo.

After quite a bit of a chinwag, we decided we were getting hungry and went inside for our brekky.

I "Crapped Out" getting the crepes I ordered and had to settle for pancakes!

We also made a new Friend, the local cat who proceeded to chew on anything that stood still long enough!

And a couple of timelapse video's of my ride etc. One in Low def

and one in HD for those with good internet speed.

It was a good meet with good company, ( and Malcolm n Scarp.. :grin :grin ) and good conversation with most topics some how venturing into the gutter some how. The food coffee and service was very good, and I think most of us came away with change from $20.00.

I was able o test my new UHF install, and Ray tested his suspect radio. First contact, was about 10Ks, not bad at all for urban hilly terrain. I was at the Roe Hwy and Great Eastern highway and Ray on Kalamund rd. Strangely enough, the conversation was easier when we were 10Ks apart than on the run home separated by about 20 mtrs. Rays transmission were broken and garbled with lots of crackling. Dont really know if that was his radio or the pancakes....

All in all, the ride was worth the effort n cold. You should have been there Poopy, you would have felt better....
