Mitch might like this since he now has one.
From the Jake Wilson facebook page.
Quote. "Some Law Enforcement Agencies are now using the Victory as the Service Bike! Would being able to ride one of these make it more enticing to become part of law enforcement?!?"

The Beemer kept up as well as he could when following another big bike in such close confines.
These guys are excellent in their tight manoeuvring!
-
A HD might have been a better choice rather than a BMW.
-
The skill that the American coppers develop at riding these big bikes in tight confines never ceases to amaze me. I would love to be able to afford the repairs needed to achieve that level of skill.

I so want to do that... we should arrange one at the AGM... we can use Streaks bike
-
Streak will probably be able to supply the Witches Hats as well Marcus. :whistle

Bahahaha

The Police Bike Course I did in NSW did the same thing. That was a few years back but I assume they still do the same thing to improve balance, throttle control and vehicle manouvering. It is a buzz. :13Candy

I'll provide the courses for you Marcus. I have layouts that we do in Qld with distances that I can set up for you to do. Have done this elsewhere and the riders had a great time.

I don't really understand why USPD's are so attracted to using heavy cruiser style motorcycles for traffic work. I was one of the riders that was involved in trialling the HD Electra Glide in the NSWPF. It was more of a promotional opportunity for HD as we never considered the HD motorcycle as a viable option for HWP duties. The HD was too heavy, high speed handling was terrible, brakes....errr what brakes and it was hugely under powered....I was glad to give it back!
Most bikes will perform well in a low speed environment if the rider has the proper training and skill level. I'm guessing that the use of cruisers for traffic work in the USA is something more strongly steeped in tradition than otherwise mentioned. I think the real winner here is Victory as the public will see police use of their bike as a glowing endorsement for their product.
Cheers,
Tony
