So we are considering having our Earmoulds retro fitted with their speakers to then connect to our Bikercomm Bluetooth headsets. The change is being considered as Earmoulds are fantastic......a little to good and now the tunes in our head are just not loud enough from helmet speakers.
The only option I can envisage at the moment is to use a 3.5 or 2.5mm 4 pole stereo plug male/female combo.
Cut the wires from headset unit to helmet speakers add female plug and more or less speaker wire as required, leaving helmet speakers in place may still be an option too, mount the plug up and under the B/T unit via mini zip ties ???
Trim the Earmould input speaker wire to as short as possible....REALLY want to avoid dangling speaker wires flapping about.....then Earmoulds plug into plug munted under B/T unit.
So has anyone done this....got pictures or feedback ??
Already spoke with Dale and got some questions answered.....just after more opinions before the side cutters come out.

I've had a set of Earmold plugs for a while now. The sound reproduction is great and they also cut down some of the wind noise. They cost a bit, but they work well. Hoping the tax cheque can help to sooth the pain for a Sena Bluetooth as when I plug the iPod into the jack for the Scala Rider FM the sound level drops off badly and you can barely hear it although the FM radio volume is great.
Strongly recommend them as the moulding makes it almost impossible to pull out when putting your lid on.

You wont be able to shorten the Earmould cable as pert of it is coiled air tube.
3 ways to connect tot eh BK-02 speaker wires
1, cut wires and solder 3,5mm stereo jack to them.
2, unplug wires to the speakers and "remake" to a 3.5mm jack replacing the speaker connectors.
3, send the headset wiring down and I do it :thumb
the others are talking of other brands so links etc dont really apply

I've been thinking of getting the earmoulds as any Bud type ear phones fall out so the SENA goes unused as I don't like to ride without earplugs. Hey Brock who did yours?

Not cheap, but quick and efficient. The plugs work well, better than foam earplugs and the audio is pretty good. I always wear ear plugs (unless I forget) so speakers are not as effective. Now I have noise reduction and good sound quality.

Note: I do get a slight/low interference noise at the moment, not bad, but will investigate.
Music and GPS (tomtom, thanks ST2up) sounds clear and crisp, very happy.

No, it happens all the time.
Walk away from the phone and any other electrical device and I still get that sound.

We have a little hum in ours aswell, now more noticeable with Earmoulds.......but seams to come from having the iPod plugged into power.......but with music playing even on the quietest setting it is not noticeable......did similar to you with mounting the stereo plug.

I have a ground loop hum in my bike powered system that I need to fix up sometime by putting in a ground loop isolator. An isolated music lead should fix up the problem, but Dale will have a better idea.

I think that is the problem Saaz.
Jaycar has one, but the size and hiding location inside the helmet and keeping the helmets integrity may be an issue??

Side issue, Helen does the earmoulds for a few car racers, just did Mr & Mrs Tander (OK, Garth a V8 Supercar driver, Holden)
And, I'm watching the V8's and listerning through my new earmoulds and sounds great.

Are the speakers still working when using the earmolds? Might be feeding in some interference.

Good question Saaz, I did drop the bikecomm speakers out of the helmet and I was still getting that interference

We use ours off the bike aswell......Pockey when running at home on the treadmill, I use mine mowing and on the cycle trainer.

I did a ride today with no earplugs (duathlon support, taking a technical official around so needed to hear) and it was so noisy. I can't see how I have spent so many years with no decent earplugs. Getting sound in is just a bonus.

Plugs needed adjusting after an 1 hour of riding to get the "sweet" spot in the ear canal (only minor discomfort) this will come with time.
Removed plugs completely as I found I was over revving the engine on take offand changing gear as I could not hear the engine rev's.
Also, I do like to hear the sound of the 1100 through the Staintunes, however I still listen to music/phone through the Bikecomm system already fitted into the helmet.
Having said that I have used the earmoulds whilst grinding metal/mowing lawns/drilling concrete and are more then impressed.
Earmoulds for "me" are more suited to Freeway riding, not local riding.

Brock hopefully I will be the same one day. I have just got mine and that was my first ride with them.
I think it is something I need to get used too and adjust accordingly.

Good report Amigo.....we ruv ours but don't do commuting, so leaving the speakers helmet was a good call mate ??

I have the opposite problem. When on the few times I ride without the earplugs (say for doing triathlon support when I need to hear the tech official on the back) everything seems so noisy and my ears do not like that much anymore. I tend to put the ear plugs in for even the short rides.
