Not so special,

Our pilots are good as well, try the Avon valley in a Macchi (ok, its was a long time ago)  The Fighter Guys are good, but try in a Hercules   :eek :eek :grin

That is freakish!
R/C helicopters are not easy to fly and that guy is doing it at night among major obstacles.
The upside-down trick must rely on an onboard computer to reverse the rotor pitch.
His reflexes are astonishing!

Looks impressive, but I'm not convinced its real. There is no way it can hover on its side for so long, as there is no lift.

Most aerobatic R/C hell's have 3D capabilities which will reverse the pitch and allow them to fly and/or hover upside down or on their side.

When you see just how many manoeuvres that guy in the night flight did, all broken down into separate lessons in these teaching videos, you can marvel at his skill all over again.
