Valve Shims
« on: March 25, 2014, 06:53:26 AM »
Hi all, does anyone out there have some valve shims they would be willing to part with? I only need 1 x 1.90 and 2 x 2.075 or very close to that. I will be happy to swap back the old ones or whatever we can work out. These are the last parts needed to get the St going again afetr timing belt fail. Thanks in advance John
Cheers

I have the Hotcams shim kit.  Precision Shims Australia respond very quickly by phone to complete web order inquiries, ship very quickly for any size you want, overnight even.

Hope that helps.

The ones I bought to top up the shim kit were $3 each. If you just send back the ones you take out I will add to the kit for others.  Just send back to the address on the letter.

1.90 shim is no problem.  No 2.075 shims.  I have plenty of the 2.05 shims. As the clearances always tighten up, long term better to go for 2.05 shims rather than the 2.10, as 2.075 is rarer as only available out of the Honda factory.  I also have plenty of the 2.025 shims which would have been from the factory.

I can send 2.10 shims if you prefer, up to you.

In the mail today. It even has a motorcycle theme stamp "Road trip" with two riders sitting down for a picnic having a toast to a great ride. How appropriate after the weekend!

That was a great set of stamps.  Wish I'd bought a few more "booklets" of them.
They're talking about standard postage stamp going up so a heap of those 60¢ ones will be a good saving!    :wink1
