Hi from Greg in W.A.
« on: March 11, 2014, 09:01:44 PM »
Just joined the group and time to say hi. I'm south of the river Perth , W.A. and just bought my white ST1100 Police version

Have ridden both the 1100 and 1300 in my work capacity as a Traffic Enforcement Officer. Was great getting paid and riding at the same time!.

So now I had the opportunity to purchase a 1100 I jumped at it.

Hope to catch up with you all sometime.

Thanks guys, yes had to be white. IT was my first Police bike when I went to the bikes in the Enforcement section. Just replaced the thermo switch today as she started to overheat. (Even though it had just had a "Dealer Service" prior to me buying it:-)) .Running like a dream. Chucked in a 12 volt socket while I had it all apart in the standard area where the Police radio jack plugs in. Its one of the only bikes I have owned that truly corners well. I also have a BMW K1200LT massive machine.

Soon WA will be threatening Queensland's hegemony in the Forum!
Welcome Greg.  There's a couple of other current and ex-Policemen on the Forum, so we're used to being polite, even after getting pinged (which we never deserve!)   :grin

What does "massive" mean in the context of "BMW K1200LT"?  Huge?  Wonderful?  There's a Qlder, Barry, in the Forum who had one, but has returned to the ST1300 fold, despite the Beemer's charms.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Nice 2 have u on board Greg - welcome from the south coast of NSW's capital - the Gong.

There rn't enough Gregs in the world and if you're an uppity piece of shite like me you'll call yourself Gregory coz it sounds like we're intelligent and it's always a good idea to trick people like that.
Anyway m8 your STeed is "regulation" white but I was persuaded 2 a red dragon 1300 instead and haven't looked back. And of course if you have a spare fortnight up your sleeve we r meeting at Ballarat on March 21 to celebrate a long ride on one of the best Sports Tourers ever made and meet and greet some of the characters of ozSTOC. It'll b farkling gr8!

Most of the above was a reply to Ralphyg's intro the other day (another Greg from WA) so 2 save wear&tear on pinkies it has been regurgitated in your honour as well!  :eek
