A ride to Canungra Outpost Cafe for lunch
« on: January 06, 2015, 07:42:25 AM »
I went for a ride last week with a few work mates and caught up with some more
Pete Bill and I met up in Toowoomba and rode over towards Warwick and met up with George on the Cunningham Highway at Gladfield near Warwick then headed to Aratula for coffee and meet up with Perry

After a great coffee and chat we headed over through Boonah Beaudesert to Canungra where we met Bob and John from Brisbane
for lunch at the Outpost Café, this would be a good spot for a OzSTOC RTE as they have great burgers and pies and it give us a chance to look at Bobs new Suzuki DL650, not my style of bike but much lighter than the ST but with still plenty of go

After a great lunch we headed back through Beaudesert we dropped into Lake Wyaralong for a look at a fairly new dam for south east Queensland

From Lake Wyaralong We cut across to Rosewood through Gatton and back to Toowoomba
A great day ride doing about 460km and a good chance to catch up with mates away from work

Gr8 report Leo,  :hatwave

Lived in Qld for 6 years many years ago and know all those places except 4 Canungra. That does look like a good place 2 eat. Not sure if I m coming up for the annual meet yet ... Is Canungra on the agenda for one of the group rides? XLent fotos. Looked like good weather for bananaland ... Not too humid as can often b the case up there.

Canungra is only a short 30 minute ride from the Gold Coast but unfortunately a bit far to go for a lunch ride during the National Rally in Toowoomba in March, but a good stop over for lunch/coffee on your way up or back there are a lot of good rides in the Gold Coast Hinterland along with many good rides while visiting Queensland
We do have 2 very good rides organised over the National Rally weekend while everyone is in Queensland enjoying our beautiful state

Come on ST George,

You need to complete the trilogy
1. 2013  didn't quite make it due to health
2. 2014 made it as a pillion
3. 2015 ride??

I am sure Wyvern would enjoy the trip and the ST company at the end

You've got a point Glen. A trilogy! That's like Lord of the Rings. And 2 bring a Dragon to Qld where it's already hot would b xciting for Wyvern. I just said that 2 him and he started salivating (and when Wyvern salivates it's in the form of a good old England form of wort (home brew essence)) - so Wyvern is more than keen). The massive cramps were the problemo tho but I think with Magnesium and cold milk drinks (as recommended by Abe) I should be sweet.

But tell me WAG, r u doing the big trip again? Is Theresa coming? As I said in another thread, r u WesTralians taking over the place. Just joshin!
Anyway m8, thanx for the encouragement - will most likely b there.    :hatwave
