Sargents Australia Day discovery ride.
« on: January 26, 2014, 03:53:15 PM »
Well today I set out to go for a ride without any intended destination.

Left home with the head in neautral (be nice people) and ended up at McDonalds in Dickson.

Cappuccino and a jam donut to fuel the body and decided to head towards cotter dam.

Cotter dam recreation area on a long weekend is certainly over crowded.

Heading up now towards Uriarra village for a few twisties and decided to make the most of the sun shine and head into the Brindabella's. This detour will not suit every ST Rider as the tar and asphalt fall away to leave a very used dirt road inhabited by mainly 4wd's (who have no respect for what side of the road they use).

A slow ride but oh what a scenery these mountains hold, staying on the brindabella rd i decided to ride up and over and turn around in the valley on the other side at the Goodradigbee river crossing and then head back home again. I did take a photo (well i though i did but nothing on the Camera sorry)

Worth a ride or drive any day people just for the scenery I tell you.... and if you do take the ST it's certainly worth it for the looks from the 4wd's you come across.

Turning around and heading back to the top again and this sign caught my attention, so i though another 30 odd klms of dirt wouldn't hurt while I was out here and I headed off for the Bendora Dam.

Here's the google maps link.

Then back to Queanbeyan for lunch with the better half.

All up 198 klms and about 70 of that was dirt.

Todays ride is up on the list of some of the best one's even with out the tar and asphalt.

Ah, it's nice to read about locations that are off the beaten track. I haven't got MYST dusty yet but it's great to see you can. Thanks for sharing your ride. :thumbsup
