When you hear this, you may think Diesel is 'having a lend' of you folks - but I can assure you I am not.

I had an extended appointment in Brisbane today and parked in the Roma Street Transit Centre Carpark for just over 2 and a half hours - maybe 3.

Here's the unvbelievable bit......

It cost me $58.00!!!!!      :eek

That's right - FIFTY EIGHT BUCKS!

Can you tell that I am FLABBERGASTED!

Most annoying is that I arrived at the train station near my place to get there for $11 - but was clambering down the stairs to the platform as the train stopped and left the station!   DOH!     :cuss

I'm sure you have a story along these lines - let's hear it!

Cheers, Diesel

Parked in a Wilsons Parking station in China Town Sydney one Saturday, went shopping for about two hrs. Came back to find the place locked, and wasnt the only one.

Finally some guy turned up to let us out, and he wanted $100.00 each to let us out as that was the fee to get out after closing time. We argued that there was nothing to say what time it closed. Guy pointed to a sign in side that said closing at 1200 (on a Saturday ????). We said where was the sign, and he said in front of the gate, our answer, No it wasnt. He replied  "Yes it was, it was lying face down on the ground............."

We refused to pay as the sign wasnt visible, so he let us out for free......

Ride ya bleedin' ST to the city, park in Georges Square Council parking for $8 ALL DAY. (was only $4 a couple of years ago.
It's dedicated bike parking near the entrance.  Only 5 minute walk to most of the CBD.

All the bike street spots are gone by 7:30 am.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Talk about revenue raising. I believe in Brisbane you have to pay to park outside your own house  :well

thats why we have given up parking in brisbane, get the train, may mean more time but as the motorway is often a parking lot, its more relaxed.

Went to a show at the Entrainment Centre in Sydney on a Saturday Night in November and parked at the Entertainment Centre Carpark, tickets for the show were something like $180ea and they charged nearly $50 to park in their own carpark for a couple of hours. Won't be going there again. :OldMan :OldMan :OldMan

$50 is a typical Sydney rip-off!  The Brisbane Entertainment Centre take $10 off you, but it's to pay for the parking attendants who direct traffic and provide security, so you don't feel quite so robbed when you're getting a bit more than a patch of bitumen.
