St1300 Clutch Noise Idle
« on: May 11, 2014, 07:39:51 PM »
One for the St1300 long term members or tech heads

Ok my St1300 at idle in neutral has a knock knock tho once I pull the clutch in its no knock and smooth quiet and I release it's knocking noise again just hear it over engine noise if I just pull the clutch in a fraction about 5 -10 min it's gone

I have flushed the clutch fluid and no change

Bike runs fine in the gears and changing up and down

Is this normal noise sort of like a dry clutch noise once released

hi turtle. mine does the same.has done for about 7 years now.synchronized the starter valves 2 cylinders were way out.knock decreased as soon as I bought them back even again.still a slight knock but I just ignore it.just got back from the Ulysses agm at alice springs and averaged 21klms per ltr.this tells me nothing is wrong. the knock is just the gears on the idler shaft rattling. nothing to worry about cheers Brian from Gisborne

If you want to do the valve synchronization yourself the STOWNERS have a great How-To...
