Some familiar names around here from across on a couple of other boards. So I don't feel as though I'm a stranger.
Got back into bikes at end of 2008 when I bought a new VN900. It lasted 3500km before I traded it on a VN1600. I thought Cruises were the go! I put 16500km on the VN1600 and then decided the Cruiser scene was not for me.
So I went looking at sports tourers. Tested a ST1300 at the Honda Shop. The changeover deal was pretty bad. I then looked at the 1400GTR at Mack1. I was really taken in by the much more sporty nature of the 1400GTR, along with the bells and whistles. They didnt tell me about the Timing Chain rattle at startup. I bout one and put 41000km on it including a trip to Darwin and back in July 2011.
I was trying to encourage my wife to do more rides with me so I then traded into a 2012 Goldwing. I put 67000 km on this bike including a Round Aus trip in April 2014. An Awesome tourer. Soon after I bought the bike I had a Really Big scare which nearly ended both my wife's and my riding career. I don't think my brain ever recovered from the incident.
So I advertised on Bikesales with a competitive price compared with other bikes in WA. It went within a week. At the same time I saw an ultra low km ST1300 at Dale Brittons. Checked it out and bought it. Took delivery yesterday. Very happy.
