How does it ride compared to the ST13 ? (i'm assuming you have ridden one)

What are your initial impressions of it ?

Good on you for going with a out of the box choice  ;-*

No chrome to polish. That's got to be good.
I'm curious what it rides like in comparison to an ST.
Cheers,
Gary

Too early to provide a report guys. School holidays will naturally change that. I have only placed 690kms on it and Onsie has already told me that I'm not riding enough.
Early report is as a comparison to the ST1100 but keep in mind this is the 2015 40th anniversary model which is a bit different to the others dating back to inception in 2013;
  • Seat Height, awesome I'm almost flatfooted at 5'4"
  • Riding Position, very straight backed with a comfortable bar reach
  • Mirrors, like a trucks, fantastic visibility
  • Gearing, very short on first, feels like you're only just starting to move when you have to reach for second but the rest are all good. Don't really have to reach for 5th which the call Overdrive.
  • Nice dash with all the info you need except it doesn't display Kms per litre, curious.
  • weighs in at 385 dry and feels lighter then the 1100 and it's made even better with the electronic reverse that works by pressing a button on the handlebar and it kicks the starter motor into reverse
  • Cruise control from factory
  • The panniers are irregularly shaped inside and although quite large, I found that my shark full face helmet will not fit in them
  • There is a USB port in one pannier to hook up an ipod which you can then control from the dash
  • There is a lovely glovebox on the above the fuel cap that is quite large and lockable
Obvious fixes that I will need to undertake to raise it to awesome as a tourer
  • Needs a centre stand
  • Needs a taller screen
  • Needs heated grips
  • Needs 12V accessory power sockets
  • Needs highway lights
  • Needs Highway pegs
  • Could use a GIVI 55Ltr Topbox
  • Needs GPS (got spare brackets and power cable this afternoon so I can use the Zumo390 between both bikes)
  • That's all I can think about at the moment. I am really happy with the bike and considering the number of test rides I did to arrive at this decision, to me, the F6B was the clear winner. Dave at Hawkesbury Honda was a true gentleman and did not muck around with stupid pricing like some others tried. Hawkesbury Honda is also a Goldwing specialist (which not all are)
One more thing, last weekend I rode with the local Ulysseans and took all the back twisties to Nowra and back clocking around 400 Ks and I got home fresh as a daisy and wishing that I had stayed on her. She is a joy to ride.
