Debbie and Rex home safe. Missed the kangaroo on the road (still not sure about the shoo roo!). Managed to get the wet weather gear on with seconds to spare, before the deluge hit. Debbie is still looking for bruising after the pounding from the hail stones at Ballarat. Thanks to all for a great day. Really good to catch up. Hope the next one is not quite as eventful.

Have just arrived home, took the scenic route which led me down some dirt roads, through a flock of sheep and down more dirt roads!

Home at 4:15pm, via Mt William (walked about 500m up the 1.8km track to the summit, very steep, it beat us, may be next time), Dunkeld, booze bus at Glen Thompson, Ballarat (late lunch at The Lane coffee shop, very nice), feet up resting, may be a pre-dinner snooze.

I know you asked me to knock on your door this morning before I left but it was quite early and I wasn't sure you were up or not (I couldn't see any lights on) so I refrained from doing so.

Great riding day for me, and also to was a fantastic to catch up with you all again.

Hi folks, whilst we made it to Halls Gap, unfortunately we didn't make it for lunch. Even more unfortunately I have no one to blame but myself for
1. taking a short cut which didn't go quite according to plan, and
2. relying on the GPS when I should have done a bit more homework.
But, there you go - catching up with the group at the HGGCP (after 3pm) was great, the walk to the other CP in Halls Gap was invigorating and Williamson certainly looked keen to do another 1/2 marathon. Catching up with Stinky Pete's crew (not to mention feeding the chooks) was worth the ride.
Our ride back to Casterton on Sunday was just beautiful, Julie absolutely loved the trip and on Monday we rode from Casterton to Frances via Dergholm, Langkoop and Apsley which again was terrific country to ride through - no roos (lucky), no log trucks (even luckier), just brilliant scenery - sadly the bluetooth communicator stopped working after Casterton so I could only listen to Pink Floyd and SRV through the countryside to Bordertown.
