Chris,
Your new machine looks great. Just read an article in ARR that had lots of good things to say about it but no fuel consumption. Do have any fuel consumption figures yet?

Hi Glen,

I've only done 170ks since getting it on Tuesday. I had 1/2 a tank to start and it took 19.5 litres. It wasn't on the reserve yet so I guess it's near the same as the ST @ 17k's per litre.

We're going for a ride today and I'll be able to give a more accurate figure starting with a full tank.

Just read a test on a 2012 model. Seems the bike has better suspension and feels better to ride, with slightly better slow speed manners as well.  So it will feel different to earlier ones regardless of where it is built.  A wing is on my short list of bikes I could happily live with..up to more than 10 bikes at the moment  :think1

I can't imagine going to a heavier bike as I get older. When I eventually part with the ST, I would be looking for a lighter bike. Mrs Skip won't be pillioning as long as I plan to say with motorcycles, meaning, I will be riding bikes long after she refuses to get on behind me. I guess everyones situation is different and that's what makes the world go 'round. ( That is such a really dumb cliche')

Skip,
What you do is keep the ST and add these.

http://www.wedgetailoutriders.com.au/

I saw a goldwing with them, they  look good, are easily removed/installed and cost a lot less than a trike.
So when the time comes, for me, it will be a toss up between these or a Spyder.

Same as the one I posted 4-5 posts ago I was going with the black until I saw one on last Sunday's Ulysses run in the sunlight it showed every swirl, mark etc so I changed my order to the blue.
After dealing in colour for 23 yrs you'd think I would've known. The blue is striking in all light and looks better every day. Now to get over the 'newness ' hurdle and put some K's on it

I never thought I would consider the Wing , far to big and heavy . All this changed last month when I decided to hire one to ride around the USA with a mate. I have never been so impressed with a bike in my life. The confort , effortless power, the handling (even rode it through Manhatten ) and the built in features such as GPS , remote control locking of the Panniers , heated grips and seats , radio I could go on and on.
The bottom line is although I am very happy with my 1300 , if I won the lottery tomorrow this would be my next bike.

Glen (and Skip), I looked through the list of bikes this would fit but couldn't find the ST, either 1100 or 1300. Also at $9.5K it seems a bit pricey, but I suppose that if it comes to a choice of riding or not riding the price becomes of secondary concern.

Cheers

Whizz,
Gavo has seen an ST 1300 in Northam WA fitted with Wedge Tail Outriders. So they are definitely available for the ST 1300.
