One of my ride mate Rob was heading to Sydney to catch up with a yearly ride around the Snowy Mts
They stay at Corryong for 2 nights
Last year coming home from our Lakes Enterence ride we stayed at night with them but I had to get home for a Doctor's appointment
Well on Tuesday I met up with Rob On a NT1100 Pete on my old ST1300 (still going great) and Vince on a Suzuki V Strom 1150. We headed to Tenterfield where we stopped for brunch then over to Glen Innes for fuel $2.19 which was good considering the prices. Then headed to Bendemeer where we stopped for a beer (a regular stopping point) then down towards Tamworth where we found a few servos out of 91 or 95 so we rode over to Nundle and got fuel for $2.17
We stayed at the Rider's Rest a house converted to accommodation straight across from the pub $100 a night twin share
After cleaning ourselves up we headed across to the pub for a few cold ones and a steak & veg which was the special for the night
We had an early night as we were up early that morning
Day 2
Up early Wednesday morning we packed up the bikes and waited for the owner to come collect the money
He has a container outside with a kitchen where he made us coffee and donuts as part of the deal
We headed out on a different road to south of Tamworth and said goodbye to Rob
Then we headed up in through Tamworth to Manilla where we stopped for coffee
Then headed up to Bingara where we turned to go across to Inverell where we stopped to top up our fuel $2.39 getting a bit dearer
Then headed to Texas for a late lunch
All we wanted to do now was get home so we headed to Karara then Leyburn Cambooya where we stopped to say our goodbyes
I got home about 3.45 1190km all up a great 2 day ride with mates
