Has anyone changed their foot pegs on the ST1100? To say something wider or skinnier?

Teela was asking me as the pillion was there something I could pit on to make her rear pegs wider, so I thought I would ask here?

Any thoughts?

Cheers

The only place I've seen them before is on a bike that's currently for sale on bikepoint/bikesales at a dealer in Redfern, Sydney.  Look at the photo in the ad and you may get an idea.  That bike also has a fork brace which seems unusual.   I did think of trying to swap the seat (with a cash adjustment) for mine.

By wider, do you mean for and aft or perpendicular to the frame. On the ST1300, I fitted wider ones for and aft because my wife complained of the same thing. Got them from somewhere in the US, they are meant for the Goldwing but not as lond. After fitting, no more complaints.
Can post photo later if required.

Below is the link for the floorboards or footpegs. They are in between in size. If you order them, select the GL series Goldwing (2005) as the bike from the link below, otherwise their systems will keep trying to tell you that this part is not for your machine. Because the fitment for the Goldwing is for the rider, the mounting pin is larger than the pillion pegs. (same for the ST). Have a machinist produce sleeves to fit the floorboards to the pin size and use the original small pins. Some fine tuning with a file maybe needed on the pegs to fit the ST bracket, for me one side was OK. On assembly, the floorboards did not sit level. To fix this, make up wedges out of aluminium, thickness to suit and press fit them behind the point where the fitting meets the frame. These can not be seen unless you view from under the peg. If the problem is the opposite then grind off some of the same area of the footpeg. We have been using them for over 2 years with no issues. Well there was one, don't let the pillion get on with wet boots. If it can't be helped, remind them that it could be slippery.

http://www.jcwhitney.com/adjustable-driver-floorboard-sets-for-goldwing/p2002543.jcwx?filterid=j1&_requestid=31364490

I hope the photos complete the explanation. BTW I do not fold up the pillion pegs, someone is nearly always using them. They will hit the back of the rider leg if you are reversing using your legs, has not been a problem for me though.

Put GL1800 pegs on my 1100 awhile back......sit about 15mm lower and about 25mm wider, bolt straight on and are also adjustable for tilt. Paid about $50USD for them.

Hope that helps

The supplier was JC Whitney in the states. These are heavey little suckers so freight can be a strain on the budget.
