NATIONAL OZSTOC RALLY 2013 15-17th of MARCH

Well all Teela's Flights are booked :) so she has a very relaxed flight to Melbourne for a couple of days, and then flying to Adelaide, doing the rally and the trip to Sydney with me, and then flying home direct to Toowoomba from Sydney.....

We are both really looking forward to getting away, and acting like we don't have children for two weeks!

The Rally has come together so well, we have so many great characters and people attending from all over Australia,  I want to get going now!

I won't be attending in March. Just got back from SA today in our van, with the temps pushing mid 40's. Even at night it was high 20's.
March is known for hot spells.
At least the van had AC.

Hi Malcolm,
Sorry to hear that you won't be riding over for the rally, but understand your lack of desire to ride in high temps.  While we do get some long hot spells during summer, they have normally moderated my mid March.   I hope you had a great holiday in SA.

Cabins are filling up, so if you have a spare bed in your cabin at Middleton that you are prepared to share, can you please post here.  It may help someone who's stuck for a bed.

Just as well the rally wasn't over the last week as they had 40 plus temps for about 3 or 4 days down there.

I rode across to Perth in March 2007.......not a problem with the heat all the way across ........even had a foggy morning when I woke up after spending the night half way along the long straight.

That same month a few days later I was in Geraldton the day it had it's hottest day on record and made the Nullarbor feel like the middle of winter.

From BOM website ave temps for Nullabor in March are around 25 and 15 at night over previous 30 years, IMO good for riding.

There is plenty of camping space available as well, it will be the perfect time of year for it :)

You can post to see if anyone has a spare bed in their cabin, or if you are a camper, Jane and Graeme at the park have held some camping sites for us, which are adjacent to the cabins.   For overflow accomodation, you can find nearby local B&Bs which you could share, through the following local agent.  Stinky Pete has been down and had a chat to Kerry, who knows about our Rally and is very happy to assist.
