  Ok you guys!, i`m  looking for some advise i`m totally over my standard seat , but am confused with wich way to go!. Do i get my seat re shaped & covered or do i look at buying a corbin, sargent or whatever?, cost will be a factor can get a sargent from the US for about $550 delivered, but seems a lot of money there must be someone local that can do a good job for less than that???............Pete

I had my seat done by a local motor trimmer, the advantage being that you can get the seat shaped as you want it. Lots cheaper than getting a seat from OS that might not suit.

Pete, there is a guy down in Goulburn that does seats, someone posted up on here recently about him.
I have had a moorehouse seat on the ST1100 and was very pleased with it.  I have had my ST1300 seat recently done by custommotorcycleseats.com.au  still waiting to make my mind up with it as it does take a few km's to wear in I believe.

He worked on my seat and I can certainly recommend him.  Give Terry a ring on 0417202707
He'll cost about half new price and you can get it customised to suit.  He shaped the top of my seat to custom fit my rear end.
Don't they make motorbike seats flat but saddles for horses are shaped and have a high section from front to back to locate the rider.?

I have a Corbin and it's not bad. I did 200km from Townsville to Bowen and then returned same.

Makes you sit a bit lower, but pretty comfortable. Pillion likes it too - just have to keep her awake now.

 Thanks for all the replies guys!,  i decided to ring John Moorehouse ( wich i did ) & had a chat and i`m going to meet with him in mid jan with the old seat & go from there!!. It sounds the way to go , i`m not keen on parting with 5-$600 for a new seat from the US, when i can modify mine the way i want it for$200 just up the road!!     ......Pete

Pete, before you do anything, drop the back of the riders seat by bending the locating lugs so that it drops into the next step back. This will level the seat up somewhat. I had John reshape mine for $180 before I learnt this little trick. By just reshaping it, as I expect he is doing for you, I find it way too firm. I definitely recommend you try dropping the rear before you mess with reshaping the OEM foam. Costs nothing.
