Tassie RTE Saturday 14 DEC 2013 Campbell Town

Information:

In consultation with Kev, Baz, Simon we've come up with a RTE at Campbell Town. Time will be 12.30 to 1 on the 14 DEC at Campbell Town Motel and Bistro.
If there are any of our northern brothers free (and I hope there are) please let me know via this thread and I will make a booking by the end of this month.
Lets see if we can get as many as possible.

Hi - For the Southern Group.... I am pretty keen to head north from Hobart via east coast, and Lake Leake Hwy, to Campbelltown - then return via Midland Hwy. What are you guys thinking of doing?

Coming from Nubeena we might very likely head up the other way, that is, up the Midland Highway then return via the Lake Leake Road, East Coast, Sorell then home. The main thing is of course, that we all meet up at Campbelltown!

Shona and I would like to catch up in Campbell Town on the 14th. If there is anyone travelling from Lonnie or the Coast, we would be happy to meet at the Perth Roadhouse at 11.30, and ride the back roads to get there.

At this stage Foxy and Mrs Foxy (Wendy) will be coming, however that might change due to a family commitment, which they're trying to overcome! I'll also very likely have Phil with me as well on his Spyder, but I'll have to confirm that in the next couple of days!

This event is lookin good... I have a 'Plus One' on back, and an FJR13 mate could tag along. Numbers may fluctuate with the weather too but ten sounds right. Look fwd to catching up with new and old members... Are we still heading up via East Coast Carsten? I am keen.

We are going to be in Hobart on Friday night now, staying with Sim, so will ride up the East Coast with you all. Consequently we won't meet any Northeners until we get to Campbell Town. See you all Saturday.

We've now decided to travel up with you guys so we'll meet up with you at Banjoes at 9.15am. I'll have Phill with me on his Spyder, Allan and Wendy Fox are currently house minding for Wendy's daughter in Hobart, and his bike is here with me at Nubeena, so they may very well drive up rather than ride, so all going well they'll also be present for lunch.

I concur!!

It was indeed a great day and while it was somewhat cloudy most of the day we had no rain whatsoever.
Phil and myself set off from Nubeena at 8.00am and met up with Sim, Di, Mike, Shona, Steve, Phill, Carsten and Laura, at Banjo's at Sorell for coffee before heading off to Swansea for our next stop before taking the famed lake leake road to Campbelltown, finally arriving at around 12.30pm, where we met up with George, Kev, Fiona, Allan and Wendy. After a fantastic lunch, roast of the day for me, we gathered on the roadside for a quick photo shoot before making our way home. Phil and myself elected to head back on the Midland Highway and then taking the Mud Flat road (which isn't muddy at all) through Colbrook and Campania and then on to Sorell, before finally arriving home at 5.30pm.

A fantastic day, and fantastic company, the only thing I'm pissed about is that I left my good camera at home and while I had the Drift with me it was hopeless for taking indoor shots. O'well, you live and learn. Never mind, Sim's thankfully managed to post a few pics showing smiling faces!!

PS: I've just counted up the names and come to 15, but I know there was 16 of us...........sorry, who did I miss?????
