Methinks the problem is the grip.
Gloveless you are using a more relaxed grip
Bit of extra tension when the gloves are on because of a lack of feel.
Never under estimate the predictability of stupidity.

BTW Andrew, you were on your way to get a MCCruise installed at Dale McKleans. I know they cost $984 2 buy but how much does it cost to install. I have sent 4 the installation manual and m considering installing the cruise myself depending on how clear the instructions r.

Hope your ribs r better so I won't tell u any gr8 jokes (not that I know any) so as 2 cause unnecessary pain.

M also considering going 2 Phillip Island this year not ever having done anything like that b4 (other than going 2 the Bathurst bike races once 25 years ago). Can u thro up a tent somewhere and make a cheapish weekend of it?

PM sent

Agreed Ian, less grip required bcoz skin and a good handgrip surface have near perfect non-slip contact (providing, of course that the hands r not covered in sweat 4 any reason). Xtra pressure must b applied bcoz of the glove thickness and this decreases blood circulation. Therefore, even perfect fitting gloves r not as good as no gloves when it comes 2 circulation. But 4 perfectly healthy riders it is of no consequence.

Really? I think it's the opposite. Gloves mean you can keep pressure without needing to grip. More traction with glove to handle IMO

I don't doubt u Marcus but there is a quandary here - glove more grip - glove less grip? I think the answer is self-judgement of your conditions and what works. I know what I'm going 2 do but your physiology tells u that my situation is wrong. Wassail your judgement!
U R right 4 U.

Slightly off on a tangent, but the cooling breeze was mentioned  :H , and this is what I saw reference to:-

http://www.ventz-range.com/

Look pretty stupid, specially in the more garish colours, but I'm sure they'd provide some relief on real hot days with not very well vented or non-mesh jackets. There is a distributor in Aust, but they are $29.99 plus postage.

Sound like a reasonable idea, but I won't be testing them out,

Andrew

Hey Andrew,

An interesting idea but I don't know whether I want uncomfortable looking sleeve inserts either.

One thing that I have found 2 b effective is the LDComfort riding t-shirt with long sleeves. The instructions say 2 wet the sleeves and any breeze that gets up the arms of your jacket creates an evaporative cooling effect. This garment also takes the perspiration off the upper-body and creates the cooling effect that way as well. Just needs a rinse and hang at the end of the day to refresh for the next day's riding.

I tried this out last summer when I had a leather jacket only and it worked OK, but now I have a summer textile jacket with removable lining which I will b using on the way 2 Ballarat. I reckon it will b gr8 in really hot conditions.
Now 2 solve the hot seat problem!  :think1

I tend to ride in a similar fashion Marcus particularly if I've been riding for over an hour or two, I try to ride with as light a grip as possible. But, vibration, don't know what you're talking about???? :grin

The times I've ridden Gloveless was horrible. Although Cooler, but horrible.
The way I ride is sort of holding the throttle at a point but letting the gloves kind of do a grip pinch thing allowing my fingers free to move about, while resting my hand on the throttle. It saves me getting tired/crampy hands. If that makes sense?

Riding without means I need to grip the throttle.
There are many paths to the top of the mountain.....but we all need to find our own way!
