Only a small turn out of 5, I think lunch was enjoyed by all, certainly by yours truly, one of the best burgers I have had in a looooong time.

Gee another hard day at the office. Yesterday the ST was washed, fueled and tyre pressures set so this morning it was a case of being on the bike a little before 9.00 and heading for Bakers Hill Pie Shop. Arrived about 10.00 after a nice easy ride along Roe and then the Great Eastern H'way. Picked up 4 lentil pasties for Theresa and had a lamington and choc milk for morning tea. Knowing that a pub lunch was next resisted the temptation of a pie.
After a chat with another bike rider who was on his way to Northam set of for the back roads to York and then on to Greenhills. A couple of ks east on the Great eastern H'way to Clackline and then a really nice (as in road surface) country road through to Spencers Brook. This continued towards York where the road went to average right at the welcome to York Shire sign. Then several ks of road works where the surface was often newly laid road base i.e gravel. On through York to Greenhills including a lovely fragrant section past a piggery.
I was still deciding where to park and when Gavo and Brom arrived followed shortly after by Yorkie who I noticed didn't mention anything about his eventful start to his day in the post above. Craig arrived just in time to place his order with us for lunch. A great hamburger for me.
I had then had to skip out early just as desert was being offered and had a quick run home until I caught up with the start of peak hour traffic, also a little hot with some areas of 34 and some 36 degrees. A total of 285 kms

Like Wombat i too was envious when reading Glens description of both ride and lunch, well done to Brian on getting back in the saddle so soon after his op, (though i bet he doesn't think it was soon enough!!) I hope everyone i have met at Ozstoc has a great Xmas and a safe riding New Year and i look forward to catching you in 2015.

The incident referred to by Glen happened as I left the cave and put the side stand down whilst I closed the cave entrance, as the door came down I heard a crash and found the ST having a lie down, don't know if I didn't put stand down properly, it slipped on the gravel or I moved it as I got off, resulting in smashed l/h mirror, cover and indicator, none of this was stopping me from 1st ride in 3 months so I rode an unroadworthy ST and enjoyed it.

Currently looks like
Yorkie,
Gavo and Brom,
Chris and Jen
plus me.
Aiming at being there at 12 noon.
The more the merrier.
The real question is will we recognize Gavo?
Gavo remember there should be a before and after photo.

I met Mitch at the Midvale Caltex and we had a pleasant run up to Spencer's Brook with about 6 spots of rain and two stoppages due to road work. We arrived just after 11:45 to be met by a big sign saying closed, no entry. As Mitch and I started to think oh dear, the publican came around the corner and opened up for us. Turned out that they open at 12.00.
To get things moving Mitch and I ordered a drink and lunch and then headed for the outside seating area to be welcomed by Mr and Mrs Drake and the family.

Just then the rest of the crew started to arrive firstly Gavo, Brom and Matt followed by Hoffy then Chis and Jen and finally Yorkie.

Think everybody enjoyed the lunch, it was certainly the best hamburger bun I have ever had.

With grandfathers duties looming I started the move for home which sorted broke up the gathering and saw me arriving home just in time to swap 2 wheels for 4 and pick up my granddaughter as school finished.

A couple of hundred kms on the ST, some good company and great food, what more can a man ask for.

Nope,  can't recall HOPPY, he must have left with the tractor carrying the big bail of hay.

It was a very good run apart from the road works and I must admit, I wasn't feeling too comfortable with the heat, not a breath of wind for the entire trip but it gave me a chance to listen to the smooth running of the bikes motor.

Mitch, you lost me when you split lanes on the Tonkin Hwy, those cars looked a bit too close together for my comfort.

Very picturesque location great food and good to meed a couple of new faces and catch up to the other ones.

I will see if I can make the next on.

Regards
