Take a look, Do you think it's a good thing?
Personally I think it could be distracting and takes away from the raw outdoor use your senses aspect of riding

Interesting concept. A problem I can see is for us old farts with minor eye problems, I wouldnt be able to read the data...
I have used a HUD in a real fighter Sim, (about 300 Hrs of it) and have found that you can ignore (filter it out) the info displayed.

Looks like a dammed fine idea to me, gives info that the rider needs without requiring him (or her) to take their eyes off the road, this also means that the riders balance can be maintained more easily as they don't need to take their eyes off the road or the background. Just a bit twitchy about the probable cost that the first few versions are going to be!, otherwise a dammed fine idea. :thumbs :thumbsup

I like the concept although I also share a concern over increasing eyesight issues that make it harder to shift the focus in and out......then again.....it might to turn out to be smart enough to accommodate for different eyesight issues,

shouldn't be to hard to have something like the view finder focus on some digital cameras

Although it would be a little like my very brief attempt at rally driving years ago.....with the Navigator bumping his gums in my ear......the comment "shut the :cuss up and let me drive got some airtime :grin
But.... once you are used to it an invaluable tool.

Too much distraction. Does it tell you about loose gravel dragged onto corners by logging trucks or where cracks in the bitumen has been heated to fill the crack and has been left all smooth and shiny?
For me I prefer the old fashioned way of riding by the seat of your pants. :think1 :think1 :blk13

I love technology! The only down side I can see is the amount of time it's going to take before the cost of a HUD helmet becomes affordable for the average rider. Bring it on!!!

I'm guess there would be a sleep feature like the current GPS where you only see it when closing in on a turn

I reckon it will be a good thing. Bit dubious about it being developed by Russians. Very interested in watching the development and seeing how long before it becomes affordable.

I would not want the sleep feature,,, I prefer to stay awake when riding.

I think it looks cool, I'll give it a go when it gets to a price I can afford :thumb :runyay

I like the idea in principle but it seems to defeat the purpose of being a helmet.
It looks like it will put a few little hard objects too close to the skull in a impact for my liking.
