Overnight RTE, Saturday 20th of September 2014, Inverell, New South Wales

We are having an overnight Ride to Eat to Inverell in NSW, anyone and everyone are welcome, we will be staying at the Fossickers Rest Tourist Park, They have BBQ Facilities and a nice Area for us all to have a feed and a good social time catching up with all the Faces, New and Old, and is central enough that everyone from north and south has an opportunity to come.
The Fossickers Rest Tourist Park has a variety of accommodation from Cabins to Villas to camping sites Pricing Ranges from $20 to $120 depending on the bed you want.

Would love to come but its just not the same without the ST1300! The replacement bike is also on adventure tyres so I last about 1.5 hours before going numb!So? That is only three stops to Inverell. :p

We may miss the lunch due to soccer finals, see how our boys team progresses until then, but we will be at Inverell later in the afternoon if we make the finals, I might be a little hoarse though :whistle

We will have the OzStoc shop supplies with us and a camera to record anything humiliating that needs to be put up on the forum :p Last year may take some beating, but anything is possible when you mix great people in top spot with a few grownup beverages :nahnah
We won't get much of a ride to this RTE so we are thinking we might head off to Moree on the Sunday to the hot baths for a long soak in the mineral springs and a late lunch before our return.

Sorry but Ros and I are going to have to bail on this great RTE. Our bike is out of action at the moment with bent front forks (courtesy of a tangle with a roo awhile ago) and it does not look like we will be back on the road in time for the Inverell trip.
Hopefully we will be back on the road in time for the next one.

The Fossickers rest advises that all their cabins are now booked :grin They do have tents/beds/sleeping bags available :like with ample space for camping.......

Have sent you an email. There's a spare bunk bed in our cabin if you don't mind sharing with Marissa and I and Dick and Ella.
The route I was planning to take will take us out to Boonah, Queen Mary Falls and across to Warwick Via Killarney.
However, I can happily run the trip in reverse and head down through Rathdowney, Woodenbong, Bonalbo and Old Bonablo and pick you up on the Bruxner Hwy at Tabulam or Drake? Then ride home Via QM Falls on Sunday.
Its an early start from my place to make Texas for lunch at midday going that way, but I'd happily forgo lunch in Texas and take a different route to Inverell.

Geez Royce, your having an uncharacteristic run of bad luck with your ST mate. Sorry to hear that you won't be attending.
Not sure if this might be of interested, but a certain Greencan has been contemplating offloading the QLD part of his ST1100 fleet.
It's a good solid reliable bike that will be going cheap. May be a proposition for you to swap over to another bike and rid yourself of the old problematic one you have now? .... Just a thought?

Bikes are washed, fueled, tire pressures done, Teelas bike serviced, all I need to do it pack and we are good to go!
Tyre pressures always get done no more than 24 hours before the ride. That way you know they're right when you jump on.
A week is a long time when you're under 290 kpa of pressure!
Packing! Pfft! Ten minutes... :grin

Hi Peter,
Can't say if road works will be an issue as the last time I rode this road was September last year on my way to the MotoGP.
I can say it's a sensational piece of road with awesome scenery, though it is a bit bumpy in places. Well worth riding though.

Road works on the Gloucester side of the mountain are ongoing but generally no issue unless we have had some serious rainfall, Walcha end is a rough but surprisingly fast piece of roadway......Uralla through Bundarra to Inverell is a nice piece of roadway but beware of a nasty timber bridge ( bolt heads) about 25 k's North of the Armidale turn off :like

There will be a deluxe cabin available if i decide not to go.Paid for last october ST2UP can manage it accordingly by putting any funds back into the club from anyone that might need a bed.

Anyone doing a run out to the dam / lake in Sunday?
Lake....LAKE !! It's a DAM and a big buggar at that......nice ride out there to with acceptable coffee at the cafe :like

Piked out of ST2UP's suggestion- when I got to Tenterfield I got "get-home-itis and hit the slab.
For some reason my SPOT didn't kick in properly yesterday. Couldn't see it last night but it initialised one hour into the trip down. Whatever- here it is for the weekend, including the Copeton Dam run.

I was very jealous! He also took the heat off anything about tigers from last year to so I was very happy 😄

Hi all, thanks for the weekend it was good to put faces to names, Inverell is a great town, but the wash-out dips on the way to the dam were just too much for the parking brake cable on the Spyder because it jumped off, well one dip was anyway, no big drama because when we got to Western Motorcycles Penrith they took the panels off and reset and adjusted the cable, wait for it, for free and did 26 computer updates that cured the poor starting that was causing us so much trouble, again no charge, all within an hour, I am thinking of buying a lotto ticket my luck must be in, the week before I had the brakes tested at two local garages, one static and one rolling and again neither charged me a cent, mind you they did ride bikes! there are lots of good people out there and Jackie and I met quite a few on the weekend, ride safe, see you all again at the next meet, Don and Jackie
