Evening all
« on: November 12, 2025, 08:27:39 PM »
Evening all. I ride a silver 2007 ST1300A.
Mods to date are
1 - the quarter harness install
2 - LED fron indicator/switchbacks
3 - Carplay unit with front and rear cameras.

I'm 70 in a fortnight and have ridden various motorcycles aver a period of 55 years.

We are in Central Hawkes Bay, New Zealand and I've been married to my pillion for almost 48 years.

The small village we live in is called Otane - it has a pub, a General Store, a Primary School, a plant nursery, Tree Guys, and a mailorder Christian Bookshop, Pleroma.

Hi Lancer, welcome to the Forum from sunny Greensborough VIC AUS.

At 70yo, you're one of the younge members, but that's okay.

Checked out Otane on Google Maps, quite a little village.  Only toured NZ North Island a couple of times, reckon we must've by passed your village, must make a note to stop next time - especially if there are any NZ dark ales or largers on offer.

Cheers,  Williamson (AKA Michael)

What a lovely ST! The Pan badge must have been bought somewhere as I don't think Honda made one like that.
I fully approve of riding the bike into the hallway and parking there.  Hondas don't leak, so no offended spouses (or is the plural "Spice"?)
Welcome to the Forum from another septuagenarian.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Re. the Pan badge, I reckn I've seen 'em before, perhaps on US or UK bike?

Re. the plural of spouse, perhaps it could be spice, or not.  Either way, it could be spicey.

It's a European thing... :whistle

You can buy the badges from BikeQuip if you'd like to fit them to your ST:  https://www.st1300-accessories.co.uk/product-page/pan-european-badges

I have a set that I bought at the Mansfield NatRally...
One of these days I might actually get around to sticking them on the bike...  :grin

It is less than a 5min walk to the local pub; then a 20min stagger home.

The photo is taken in a warehouse; I'd never be allowed her in the house.

The Pan badge was on her when I bought her, so I did not realsie it wasn't standard.

The seats were done by a place in Tauranga. I found that out when I was on an ACC Ride Forever Course and the facilitator recognised the work.
